Winter’s snow brings unhindered-by-lines access to skiing and snowboarding amidst 360-degree views of the Sierra. Mokelumne Peak, the shining star of the Mokelumne Wilderness and the Stanislaus National Forest, plays as the immediate backdrop to a day making turns at Bear Valley Resort. By summer, the snow gives way to hiking and mountain biking trails (rentals available), a disc golf course in the Village, and kayak rentals for the surrounding lakes, the closest of which, Lake Alpine, is only a small trek up the road. If you are staying on the Mountain in a glamping tent, Lake Alpine is just about a mile away.

Originally called Cold Spring Ranch due to an ice cold spring. The Dorrington Hotel was built in 1852 by John Gardner who married Rebecca Dorrington and moved her out from Scotland. We have a bridal room, lodge with cozy fireplace with AC/heat, large commercial kitchen with walk in fridge, restroom and showers with flush toilets, wedding tables and chairs for up to 125 guests (50 cars) . We offer camping weddings including glamping tents, teepees, cabin tents, camp fire bowl, volleyball/ basketball courts. Our philosophy is to provide an affordable wedding venue that allows the bride to customize to her dream wedding. We offer limited availability in the spring and fall.
