Poquonnock Plains Urban Farm

5.0

  • Starts at $500
  • Serves Portland, CT
  • Offer

If you are all about local and sustainable and want your wedding or event to reflect who you are then PQ Urban Farm Flowers is the perfect match. Want a wildflower, natural esthetic for your event, a rustic wedding or a fairytale baby shower look no further. As a flower farmer and florist I am an expert in seasonally grown flowers, show me your look and color pallete and I will choose the perfect in season flowers for you.

Having fresh local flowers in my shop is a great way to start conversations with customers and bring a different vibe to my store than the more mechanical, information seeking, technology vibe that bikes often bring in retail. Flowers break that mentality up, helping to bring a more intimate feeling to the store environment and speak more to what people get from bikes than a list of features/benefits.

BLOOM. Creative Floral & Events

5.0

  • Starts at $5,000
  • Serves Portland, CT

BLOOM. Creative Floral & Events is a boutique floral and event design studio located in Northeast, CT, serving counties in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. We create seasonal, garden-inspired floral arrangements, using only the freshest flowers and unique blooms and ingredients responsibly sourced from local flower farmers and gardens from all over the world. Drawing inspiration from your ideas, your unique style, and the venue you have chosen, we work closely with you and the team of professionals you have hired to implement your special day to help you achieve, big and small, the wedding of your dreams.

Tammie made our wedding a dream. We love flowers and knew we wanted them to be a showstopper during our big day, and from our very first meeting we knew that Tammie would create organic coastal garden magic for us. After describing our likes and dislikes and reviewing a moodboard with Tammie, she came back with a visual proposal that completely understood the vision we had, and the actual execution was even better than we could have expected. From my beautiful bouquet, to the ceremony arrangements, and the stunner of a floral chandelier, everything was absolutely perfect. However, nothing could really top the reception tables — it was like my Pinterest board come to life. The organic feeling growing arrangements, bud vases, ikebanas, and tapers that complimented our tablecloths were *chefs kiss*. I’m still not over everything! To top it all off, Tammie is so kind, warm, and lovely — she made dreaming up flowers one of the best and most enjoyable parts of this process. Thank you for everything, Tammie!

“For me, Hana is something bigger than just doing wedding flowers. We are part of one of life’s momentous occasions, and to partake in that is extraordinary. It is my way of sharing something beautiful with the world and I am indeed grateful for it.”

Yumiko at Hana Floral Design was one of the first vendors I really clicked with during my wedding planning experience, and the rest was history! I am so glad I found her early in the planning process. Her ability to understand and execute my tropical-inspired wedding vision gave me full confidence that my wedding would be success. Throughout the process, Yumiko easily adapted to new ideas, took feedback in stride, offered helpful (really helpful) ideas, and seamlessly communicated with my other vendors to turn my vision into a reality. She had awesome connections (helped to find my amazing photographer) and she went above and beyond to turn our blank canvas of a tent and transform it into a tropical, island chic space. I felt so incredibly lucky to work with her, and throughout called her the VIP of my wedding day. She is amazing, truly the best!!!!!

The granddaughter of two gardeners, I have always felt a connection to the earth through the soil. When someone brings flowers into a room, something changes...an energy, an excitement! I love being able to bring that kind of beauty into peoples lives. I'm a small-town girl who enjoys anything that involves working with my hands from cooking to knitting. I'm a total animal lover (partial to dogs), a die-hard Grey's Anatomy fan, and I take my martinis extra dirty. When I'm not flowering in our studio in Milford, Connecticut, I'm mommin' to three amazing little boys (our dog Pippa and cat, Galaxy).

Our wedding was held at Saltwater Farm Vineyard in June 2024. Kate was such a pleasure to work with and really brought our floral vision to life! I appreciated her free excel planning tools and how responsive she was from our first inquiry. After our first phone call, I realized that she is incredibly easy-going and down to earth, in addition to being well-organized. These are qualities you want in your wedding vendors. I have always loved florals and she helped me craft a vision that stayed within our budget. Our theme was coastal vineyard - I wanted the vibe to be loose & romantic without veering too rustic. She found this balance perfectly! On our wedding day, she arrived early and took care of everything quietly without a hitch! I didn't have to worry about a thing. I can't recommend Fountainhead Floral enough!

When I was looking for floral vendors for my July 2024 wedding in Block Island, I came across Ayla’s Instagram, and I knew immediately I had to work with her. I fell in love with the whimsical, natural, English-garden vibe of her florals, and I just thought she was the coolest person. From the first conversation we had, it felt like she “got” me, suggesting flowers, designs, and concepts better than I could possibly articulate myself. She was incredibly thoughtful putting together multiple proposals that fit our vision and our budget. The entire planning process couldn’t have been easier because of how sweet, communicative, and easy Ayla was to work with. Cut to the wedding day, and I was honestly speechless seeing her work come to life in our tent. Ayla is an ARTIST. She created a gorgeous 65 ft table runner for our head table that was so dreamy I still think about it. The bouquets were exactly what I was looking for - natural and simple but packed a stunning punch. Then there was the tent entrance installation, which was so beautiful on its own but also so thoughtfully designed to enhance the view and setting of our venue. Multiple guests came up to me on the wedding day (and even in the weeks afterwards) commenting on how the florals were some of the most unique and beautiful they had seen. I truly could go on and on. Ayla and her amazing team at shade studio exceeded every expectation a million times over. Hands down, Ayla is the best and I couldn’t recommend her more.

Omg where do I even begin??! Nicole is a master of her craft. I reached out in December 2022 for my May 5, 2024 wedding and I knew after our first phone call that she was the one I wanted designing my flowers and centerpieces. We instantly clicked and she knew exactly what I was envisioning and how to get us there. All throughout the process she kept me involved and was constantly making sure it’s what I wanted. Even though I knew what colors she was going with I was still left absolutely speechless when my bouquets were delivered to my hotel room the morning of. And when I walked into the venue and saw the centerpieces I was in awe. Like she blew it out of the water. Rachel was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding! She made all of our visions come to life with stunning flowers, boutonnieres, centerpieces, and more. Her responsiveness and accommodating nature made the entire process stress-free, and her attention to detail is unmatched. Rachel also did the flowers for both of my older sisters’ weddings, and her work is consistently incredible. She goes above and beyond in everything she does. A perfect example: she remembered that my husband is Ukrainian and that Ukrainians prefer flowers in odd numbers, so she thoughtfully ensured all our arrangements followed this tradition—without me even mentioning it! Lindsay was so amazing to work with! We hired her to do the flowers for our very small wedding, and the flowers were pretty much our only decor. Everything turned out so stunning. I only showed her a couple of inspiration/general ideas, and mostly told her that we just wanted bright seasonal (August) flowers, and to go ahead and do whatever she thought was best. We didn't have a set color palette since we didn't have a wedding party, so she really could choose whatever she wanted. This was the best decision I could have made because everything was even more beautiful than I could have imagined! Trust me, if you're not a picky bride, ask Lindsay to surprise you and you won't be disappointed!
