“Modern Highway was absolutely FANTASTIC at our wedding! Their setlist of 80s, 90s, and 2000s hits had everyone on their feet all night. Christina’s voice is unforgettable, and their rendition of "How Far We’ve Come" by Matchbox 20, a song very special to our family, was particularly memorable. “Seth was incredible. He was so on top of things, understood the vibe we wanted at every point and absolutely crushed it. Multiple guests came up to me just to specifically tell me "Your DJ is amazing." From our first meeting (before we had even officially hired him) to the last dance, Seth was so easy to work with and absolutely delivered on the kind of dancefloor we wanted. We wanted someone who understood what we did and didn't want and who would keep people dancing -- nothing depresses me more than when a DJ plays the "wrong" song and the dancefloor empties out but the DJ doesn't read the room and adjust. We never had that, and we never had one "wrong" song. Seth is so good at reading the dancefloor and keeping the party going. And I know other reviewers have mentioned it, but his app is great and made the process of picking key songs and favorites and "DO NOT PLAY" songs so streamlined. We can't recommend Seth highly enough!”

“DJ Trey is THE BEST DJ!!! I wish we had even more time on the dance floor to keep letting him mix because he’s a genuinely fantastic DJ! Not just a DJ who sets up an iPhone or Spotify and lets it ride mindlessly, but a DJ who reads the crowd, takes input from the bride and groom, and uses his skill and best judgement to provide music that gets everyone on the dance floor. Literally everyone at our wedding was on their feet for dancing and loved all the music DJ Trey played! He also was fantastic in making sure all of the music played on their appropriate cues and was well-prepared. He was great to work with for our wedding and we can’t wait to throw another party just so we have an excuse to use DJ Trey again!”

“When I say that Dylan and the Moon Units MADE our wedding, I am not exaggerating. They not only delivered, the exceeded our already high expectations in every way possible. Music was extremely important for my husband and me, and we knew immediately that we wanted a live band to elevate the evening. We found Dylan and the Moon Units' information online, and after finding that they were very within our budget we reached out and Dylan invited us to one of their gigs in Hollywood. We loved their vibe and booked them. We asked Dylan to play both our ceremony and our reception, as well as play preset playlists for our pre-ceremony and cocktail hour. Now, I must admit, because music was so important for my husband and my special day, we had *very* specific ideas for what we wanted. Dylan was extremely communicative, answering all of my extremely needy and detailed emails in a timely manner and doing everything he could to reassure me that we were in good hands. We made selections from the list of songs they knew, and also asked them to learn about 10 new songs for us, ranging from unique arrangements of existing songs to deep cuts from 90's movies. Dylan's communication was warm, expeditious, and professional, and I felt really well taken care of. At our wedding, though, is where they exceeded our expectations. The live music they played was amazing, and set the tone for our wedding in the exact way we were hoping for. At the reception, they kept the energy up with a perfectly curated playlist of our requests (and we had quite a lot!) songs they knew would keep the party going. Their song choices appealed to the older crowd as well as the Millennial crowd. Dylan even help me set up a surprise performance for my husband, where I sang one of this favorite songs ("Go Cubs Go") with the backing of the Moon Units band. It was an incredibly special moment. And creating special moments was what Dylan and the Moon Units did best. Somehow, they managed to keep the dance floor packed the entire evening. Months after our wedding, our guests have continuously called out Dylan and the Moon Units as an absolute highlight of our wedding, saying that it was musically one of the best weddings they have ever been to. All-in-all, I cannot recommend Dylan and the Moon Units enough. As someone who was VERY specific about the music at my wedding, they exceeded all of our expectations. Book them for your wedding ASAP - you will not be disappointed.”

He also has no issue picking the perfect songs to lure people out onto the dance floor and KEEP THEM THERE. also his cocktail hour music was soo fun and dinner music was fantastic. He's also just super flexible if you need to add songs or swap them or change up the schedule. Hes just the best energy and super funny also. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of music and will know and have any song you ever request. And if it just came out like two days ago he can quickly download it also. To sum it up, looking for a cool DJ is almost impossible, this guy is going to give you a good DJ set without any effort from you, he will just bring the party with him.”

All of her email correspondence were well articulated and prepared, the phone conversations we had with her were a delight, she is thorough and always prepared and organized. Lily and Simon provided us with a complementary song list to choose from, filling in the blanks for us along the way, when we needed help, and even created a custom song ("Simply the best") for our Ceremony! We LOVED it. In addition to all of this, we appreciated the small details - Lily went as far as to ask what her and Simon should wear to the event so they could be coordinated to the wedding "look" we were going for. “The Lucky Devils Band absolutely made our wedding reception! From our initial phone call with Meredith, we knew we were in excellent hands. She took the time to thoroughly understand our vision and musical tastes, making thoughtful suggestions along the way. Communication was prompt, fun, and Meredith was so approachable throughout the planning process. On the big day, the band blew us away with their incredible talent and ability to perfectly execute our song requests, from jazz to oldies to classic rock. As musicians ourselves, we were so impressed by their skill level and experience and professionalism. During cocktail hour, two musicians played jazz, then they switched to rock mode for the reception. They truly made it feel like our own personal concert and kept people on the dance floor for literally 3 hours! The energy was palpable from their very first note, and their song selections kept guests of all ages dancing all night long. They ended the evening with “Purple Rain” by Prince and it made my life. We can't recommend the Lucky Devils Band highly enough - they were total professionals and our biggest splurge, but SO worth it I’d do it a million times over!!”

From the beginning it went smoothly and he and his team are very thorough and responsive. We chose DJ Becca who is very nice and was up our alley of musical taste. Our goal was for a dance vibe type of wedding but there were a few miscues with the songs she played. We’d hope she would read the room better and continue to play songs that she noticed people were enjoying but her transitions between songs were a bit odd. Nonetheless, she was a joy to work with and maybe with a bit more direction (our fault, not hers!) this would be a 5 star review. Highly recommend reaching out to DJ Nahchey and DASH Entertainment, they have many DJs to choose from!”

He listened to and accommodated all of our song requests, including songs we did NOT want played, and took the time to check in with us during the wedding to make sure we ate and had a good time. After the wedding, my family kept commenting about how “great the DJ was.” We are so grateful Makai was a part of our big day! 10/10 would recommend!
