At six years old, she began taking piano lessons with Jean Wonders, and at eight she began Suzuki harp lessons with professional harpist, instructor, and adjudicator Candyce Dunham. She never looked back after her first lesson in October 2007. Bethany Lancaster is a performer, teacher, and collaborator based in the Piedmont Triad. She runs Lune River Harp Studio, which seeks to instill an admiration for the musical arts, inspire students to reach their full potential, and create lasting memories with each performance. Known for her passionate and masterful performances, Bethany plays regularly as a soloist and ensemble member. She has dedicated herself to learning the harp so that she can help others experience its beauty, and to this end, she received her Masters of Music in Harp Performance from the University of Michigan.

I am a classical harpist with over twenty years of experience, and I love working with couples to add a magical touch to their special day. I have a full repertoire of classical and romantic music, and I arrange my own medleys and popular music as well! I have performed in weddings in North Carolina, California and Tennessee and with the Stanford Symphony Orchestra and the American Youth Harp Ensemble. Some of my favorite performances were touring renowned concert halls in Austria including St. Peter's Cathedral and Melk Abbey. Now, I'm based in Asheville, NC and work with students of all ages sharing the joys of the harp.
