Our goal was to make sure no one left the dance floor, and we had an extremely high bar and specific vision for a DJ for our wedding… Davey met and exceeded expectations, and I’d throw another party just to hire him again. He was extremely helpful, available, and consultative throughout the process, which was immensely valuable because we planned the wedding from out-of-state. We wanted a party that started with familiar songs remixes into house music so that the family members could dance to something familiar, and get progressively more dancey throughout the night- and that’s exactly what we got. He’s adaptable and ready to read the crowd to keep everyone involved, which we really appreciated, and was a big priority. He puts the couple first and is very intentional about making sure the night goes smoothly and as expected. It was a party with exactly the right music, and Davey kept everyone dancing- even my 82 year old grandma. We selected Davey because of his knowledge of our music taste (he’d even played some of our favorite NYC clubs), but in referencing him it was clear that his capabilities were not limited to this style- I talked to two other couples who were just as excited about Davey as I am, but with pretty different taste. As we worked with Davey and got to know him, it also became apparent that he’s just an excellent human being, and brought such good vibes and energy to our wedding just for being who he is. To anyone considering, I could not recommend Davey more. We were close on using another vendor whose package included lights, but I’m glad we did not. The lights we would have received were auto-sensing lights that “sync” to the music- but from what I’ve seen, those lights are frenetic and unreliable. We spent some extra money investing in proper lights (Davey helped with a few introductions), and the combination of Davey’s skills and professional lighting transformed a standard wedding to a disco nightclub.”

Historically, we’ve found wedding DJs to be subpar. Between the poor choice in songs and the lack of beat matching ability, we‘ve always had critiques about the DJs when we attend weddings. From the initial consultation to the wedding day itself, DJ Neema was dedication to making the musical experience authentic and meaningful. Initially, we interviewed two DJs and DJ Neema stood out with his impeccable mix that seamlessly blended our eclectic music tastes, from Houston rap to Bollywood hits. On the wedding day, he worked his magic, keeping the dance floor alive the entire time — keep in mind that this was a daytime and a completely dry wedding! His ability to read the crowd and curate the perfect vibe for the event was truly impressive. “I wanted an excellent, professional, and kind pianist for our wedding. Jan was the answer. I am also a pianist, and I did not want the standard Pachelbel's Canon or Wedding March played during our ceremony. I had dreamt of Beethoven's Pathetique playing as my father walked me down the aisle for as long as I can remember -- my dad played this on the piano frequently when I was a child, so the piece holds a lot of sentimental value. I had previously worked with my church's pianist, who was judgmental of my music choices, steering me away from using any unique pieces for the ceremony. As a young bride, I nearly listened to that lady. But I am so glad someone recommended Jan! As soon as I contacted her, she asked all the right questions and provided details about her services that put me at ease. In addition to the Pathetique, I also requested portions of pieces I had played growing up, including Bach, Chopin, Debussy, and Grieg's Wedding Day at Troldhaugen. Not only did Jan perform every piece with technical ease and excellence, her musicianship was truly moving. Jan was punctual, always prepared, and her pricing was more than fair. Her presence is steady and calming, and she has a wonderful sensibility for timing and supporting an event with her music. She brings a lot of experience to the table, so she was able to provide a realistic perspective while delivering a beautiful service to all who heard her play. Several people came up to me after the wedding, complimenting Jan's piano playing. It was such a relief to have her play piano for us. They dressed appropriately for our wedding theme and many of the guests at the Hawthorne Hotel wanted to take pictures with Karlea in her Twenties attire. In addition to being a wonderful experience, they were also a great value for the price. These are top quality musicians and we paid a reasonable price for the band. As a 28 year old bride and 33 year old groom we wanted a fun, high-energy reception to keep our diverse 100 person guestlist dancing all night. We had many guests/family from the, Rio Grande Valley and Venezuela, along with many friends from all over the US and from all cultures. He smoothly integrated must-play songs and requests in both English and Spanish to keep everyone happy and dancing, just as we'd hoped. Ivan was kind, approachable, and professional in all of our communications leading up to the big day. He provided a very detailed questionnaire to make sure he fully understood the vibe we were going for. Ivan's experience and knowledge of weddings really showed in his song choices and MC skills. When we hired them after a recommendation/commendation from another couple who called Blind Date the highlight of their wedding, we thought maybe they were being hyperbolic, but we knew at least the band would be good enough for a good time. Never in my life could I have imagined a band was capable of being as great as they were. From the beautiful jazz dinner set (it felt like I was listening to the jazz greats themselves), to the best two hours of dancing I’ve ever enjoyed in my life, Blind Date blew us away. “I knew I wanted a DJ that was familiar with the Rabb House sound system limitations and I saw Jason had worked the Rabb House before. He offered a discount if we paid in cash and threw in extras like uplighting which really helped set the mood. He listened to and followed our preferences for music and, I was surprised, actually got people dancing. He was great a emceeing the event as well, very helpful announcements and not cheesy.”
