In 1972, 70-year-old Ben Vanderhook tore down old barns in Mahaska County and surrounding counties to create our beautiful barn, located a stone’s throw south of Oskaloosa, Iowa. The 3½ acre property includes a 147×46×60 Quonset hut barn, open fields as well as mature shade trees. Debbie’s Celebration Barn is one of the most extraordinary and romantic settings for a Midwest wedding or special event. The event space in the barn is spacious with many options for originality to fit your occasion. Both east and west ends of The Barn feature large double French doors which add to the charm as well as aid in cross ventilation on warmer summer evenings.

Nestled amongst 12 acres of vineyard in the scenic countryside just south of Des Moines, Summerset Winery is a truly unique venue for your upcoming event. Our banquet hall and outdoor ceremony space can seat up to 250 guests and our tent can seat up to 400 guests! Be it large or small, our facility offers a beautiful venue for every type of event. Also located on the vineyard just steps from the winery is the Inn at Summerset Winery, which is a bed & breakfast style home available to rent for your wedding party. Curate provides award-winning catering and bar service through our sister company Taste! To Go Catering and Events. We work with many other local partners to provide end-to-end solutions for your event. Five hotels are within 800 yards of Curate, meaning less than a 1/2 mile walk from each of them.
