I was so overwhelmed when I first started looking for florists for our wedding. There are so many options, and I didn’t even know where to start until I found Poppy. They break down the process and steps, making it super easy, almost to the point that it doesn’t feel real. To start, you meet with a floral consultant where you talk through your wedding details, the vibe you’re going for, the general needs, etc. Then they walk you through a list of various wedding floral options: bouquets, table arrangements, signage florals, ceremony florals, etc., and you start to narrow down what you want. In each section, they have a grouping of photos, and you can either select something from that or ask for more options. You can also tweak what they have shown (I picked florals that had eucalyptus in them and requested everything be switched to ruscus). After that, you have a while to go back in and adjust until a deadline, but they accommodated some last-minute adds I had as well. Our consultant was Sophia, and she was super responsive and wonderful to work with. Closer to the wedding, you get assigned a local florist who does the actual designing/styling and installing, and we were lucky enough to get Ron, who matched our inspo images EXACTLY. Everything was so beautiful, and I was so in love with my bouquet. He was also incredibly nice and set everything up so quickly. If you’re looking for something to make the whole floral selection easy, simple, and beautiful (also super transparent with costs), definitely go with Poppy!!

Wild Ginger Weddings

5.0

  • Starts at $3,000
  • Serves Lake St. Louis, MO

We are farmer florists, creating locally-sourced, sustainably grown, seasonal floral arrangements for St. Louis-area weddings since 2018. If you’re looking for outside-the-ordinary wedding flowers, you’ve found them.

Wild Ginger Weddings did such an amazing job with our wedding – we recommend them without reservation! The arrangements and bouquets were so beautiful and unique – Wild Ginger incorporated native plants and flowers from Missouri and even designed a custom wreath for our wedding arbor (and we loved the wreath so much that we let the blooms dry, and hung it on our wall for the year after our wedding!) Early on in the planning process, we didn’t have a clear vision of exactly what kinds of flowers we wanted, and Carolyn (the owner) was extremely thoughtful in helping us figure out how the flower arrangements could highlight our style as a couple and create the vibe that we wanted to bring to our outdoor wedding, while staying within our budget. On the day-of, they were prompt, professional – and managed a bit of unexpected rain during the set-up time without flinching -- and everything was gorgeous. We really had a great experience, and can’t recommend Wild Ginger highly enough.

Bloom Culture: Do-it-Yourself Wedding Flowers was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. From the very first inquiry, their communication was prompt, kind, and professional. They answered all of my specific questions with personal responses, making the DIY flower process so easy and stress-free. The quality of their work was consistent, thorough, and truly showed how much they cared about making our day special. We saved so much money going the DIY route with Bloom Culture, and it allowed us to create so many wonderful memories putting the arrangements together with our wedding party. I highly recommend Bloom Culture to any couples looking for a reliable, affordable, and caring florist for their wedding. I wanted to do my own flowers to honor my grandmother who was a florist. Katie was a breeze to work with! I am not big on real flowers and wanted something that would represent my husband and I. Her prices are comparable to real flowers and are even more lovely! I love that her flower designs mimic real flowers and that foliage was an option. She took the care to make sure I had what I wanted and sent me multiple pictures during the process and of the finished result before we picked them up for the wedding. She accepted my feedback and made changes to the bouquets to match my vision. I still have my bouquet and my husbands boutonniere as keepsakes that remind me of our special day. I would use her services again and again!

Sarcasm & Sunshine Designs Flower Preservation

5.0

  • Starts at $250
  • Serves Lake St. Louis, MO

Sarcasm & Sunshine Designs is comprised of two friends, turned business partners. We worked together for several years planning events and weddings, so we have a shared love of sparkle, flowers, coffee, and making beautiful memories! We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate our growth as friends, mothers and confidants, than to combine our creativity and passions to create one of a kind items to brighten the days and lives of others. Our business, our products, and our partnership is all about balance, Contessa is the Sarcasm, Danielle is the Sunshine. Some days, we switch roles, but we think life is better with both!

Having my wedding flowers preserved was extremely important to me. To be able to keep something perfectly preserved that was so beautiful on my special day is unreal. Danielle is the kindest and easiest person to work with. She gets back to you within seconds and listens to any and every crazy request I had. Along with a tray, wine stopper, ornament, and book mark, Danielle was able to take part of my Mother’s wedding dress (that was wrapped around my bouquet) and preserve it in a jewelry box with my flowers. Let me tell you, the reaction my mom had on her face when I gave her that jewelry box was indescribable. If you are ever second guessing preserving your wedding flowers, this is your sign to do it. You won’t regret it! Sarcasm and Sunshine’s work is impeccable and I hope that others are able to have their flowers preserved with such care and precision as I was able to have mine.

Sarah, the owner and floral designer behind Locust, has an absolutely brilliant mind and tender soul. Her approach to florals is wholly unique-- at the start of the process we worked together to develop a mood for our wedding's florals, defining not just palette and flower preferences, but the emotive and imaginative qualities we wanted flowers to evoke on our wedding day. The flowers she ordered were so special and of the upmost quality, which she then thoughtfully paired with foraged materials from the woods near my father's house as well as our new home. When it came to creating the bouquet, table arrangements, and ceremony installations, she truly made us feel like her collaborators. She showed us so many options, asked for input at the perfect times, and in the end, our wedding florals were the true standouts on our special day. We felt so seen and captured by what she created, and the florals lent a magical air to our ceremony and reception. We could not think of a better florist to work with for important life events-- Sarah is an incredibly special, brilliant, thoughtful human. We couldn't recommend her enough!
