Originally built in the 1920’s in an area that has long served as the city’s seafood market east of Downtown, the building has lived many lives in its century of use; it’s been a hotel, a brothel, a fish and oyster company, and a commercial site for everything from glass blowing to marijuana cultivation. This mysterious history subtly informed our re-invention of the space.

Once a 1980s smog-check center, SmogShoppe is now a 100% solar-powered, private 6,500 square foot indoor/outdoor haven for desert plants, vertical gardens and chic vintage furnishings. The combined interior and exterior areas allow for quintessential California entertaining, making an ideal vintage wedding venue. The generous floor plan can accommodate up to 150-person garden ceremonies, 150-person formal sit down dinners, and 250-person cocktail parties. Lavender Inn is a stunning destination wedding setting in the town small valley of Ojai south of Santa Barbara. It was built in 1874 but is continually being updated with a blend of antiques and farmhouse modern touches. Our colorful gardens feature a view of the foothills, majestic oaks, a small pond, 2 wedding arches, a wine barrel bar, private sitting nooks, art, and of course lavenders. A Garden Massage Gazebo is hidden into the far back of the gardens where you can have a relaxing couples massage. The Provence Cottage is the 1000 sq' wedding suite where French doors from the bedroom and from the living room open onto a private backyard. Sip wine in front of your fireplace.
