By this point, I had already accumulated 15 years of experience shooting wedding videos and my wife simply couldn't understand why I wasn't booking my own clients. She encouraged me to explore the idea. So, here we are. I named my company after my wife, Ebony Ellyce Ávila.

I grew-up in Belém, the state of Pará, in Brazil. When I explain where Belém is, I always say it is next to the Amazon. I also say what a beautiful city it is. Hi! I'm Soohyun, I began working with my creative partner Saehee shorty after our wedding in 2009. We remember the feeling of overwhelming joy on our wedding day to be surrounded by the people we love while celebrating our commitment. I has been a fine arts photographer for more than 19 years, and my wife Saehee began as a video editor in television and radio but found her passion behind the lens. Together with Saehee we came to Chicago in 2012, where I received my MFA in Photography from the University of Illinois Chicago.
