I’ll preface by saying this is my second marriage and can compare my experience with to my first wedding. Catering By Uptown was fantastic from the beginning. They have excellent responsiveness, attention to detail and the food is amazing. Everything we wanted on our wedding day was accomplished. The only slight frustration I experienced was not having contact with our specific day of coordinator until the week of the wedding. But that didn’t even end up being an issue because, as I mentioned, everything was perfect. They’re so flexible and easy to work with. Though I wasn’t communicating with the same person every time I had questions, their internal communication was so strong and efficient that it seemed like I was talking the the same person. I can’t recommend them enough.

Drumore Mill is a different world. It is nestled in a corner of the most rustic township in Amish Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The mill was built in 1752 as a sawmill and a grist mill. It sits in a hollow with 30 acres of tall cliffs and old trees to provide privacy, warmth, and natural beauties. There is a pristine creek that meanders through the property. The Fishing Creek supports native trout and other rare small fishes. The waterfall is adjacent to the buildings. There is a hiking trail within the property. There is wetland and much more. The combination of rustic setting, natural beauties, and historical features makes Drumore Mill amazingly beautiful. One has to see it to believe it.

Drumore Mill was an absolutely stunning venue to use for our special day (really weekend). We loved the ease of booking the venue, touring with Thuy, and the promptness and flexibility they offer. An added bonus is the available on site lodging for rental, which we made great use of for our close friends, family, and wedding party to stay in the night before and night of the wedding. We enjoyed the Great Room in the Grist Mill for our rehearsal dinner. Our guests loved how spacious Drumore Mill was, and we appreciated all the attention to detail such as included (but still optional) decor and greenery, and the setup of chairs and other items for the ceremony space. Being able to bring in all of our own vendors at no additional cost was fantastic. The value for renting the property from Thursday to Saturday morning was unmatched and completely worth it. We would recommend Drumore Mill to anyone, and we look forward to booking the property in the future for non-wedding related stays with friends and family.

My husband and I had to push off our wedding celebration due to covid so we ended up having to plan our wedding celebration multiple times and switch dates. Allie Hobbs the event coordinator at The Tides was extremely accommodating and helped us have the most AMAZING event we could have imagined! We had friends and family come from all over the country and everyone had such a wonderful weekend. The staff, the food, accommodations, weather and views could not have been better! As I write this review, I am reminded of all of the stressful thoughts a bride goes through as she plans her big day with the love of her life, and then I remember how great it was that I found the best location and person to work with to coordinate our big day! Ruthanne and her entire event staff at Kiln Creek Golf Club & Resort deserve all of the love and recognition for helping to orchestrate a seamless event from start to finish. I was unfamiliar with venues in this area, and my now husband and I searched from the Outer Banks to Newport News to find something that fit our vision and price point, and Kiln Creek did all of that. For both of us, it was important that the venue gave us that "This is it" feeling! All of the venues we looked at in Suffolk, Norfolk, and VA Beach were just missing something. Then Kiln Creek Golf Club & Resort popped up on my searches and I am sure glad it did! Ruthanne went out of her way to make sure all of my questions were answered and that she saw my vision properly for the big day. That is what was so amazing, that she puts every bride’s vision as a huge priority and she was there to make sure we set up times to meet to go over everything in fine detail. She even added extra special touches because she wanted to, and they were perfect. We stayed at the Lodge, ate at the Nest for dinner one evening prior to the event as well as breakfast the day after the wedding, and the rooms were spacious, beds comfortable and food was delicious! Shout out to Jordan, Christine, Crystal and all of the other amazing servers and staff on location! My husband and I had the most amazing day of our lives! All thanks to Ruthanne and her amazing team, from the chef, to the recommended vendors, who were equally awesome, for seeing my vision and making sure everything came together, perfectly! Thank you, Ruthanne and all of the staff at Kiln Creek!
