A premier rustic venue space for your event. Originally the home of a functioning farm, the barn social has undergone a full renovation while maintaining the original rustic features. The barn features a chandelier in the main room that is constructed using old farming equipment, and the shiplap walls as well as the fireplace downstairs were both built using extra pieces of the original barn. These are just a few ways we have kept the original aesthetic of the space.

Upon entering the venue, formerly known to be the Franklin Savings and Trust Company, your guests will be welcomed to the main event space where no detail goes untouched. The natural light pours making the entire space feel alluring, energizing, and lively. It’s easy to envision getting married and celebrating with your favorite people. The original columns surround the newly installed custom black and white dance floor where your guests will dance the night away. Modern chandeliers installed overhead provide the perfect mood lighting for the evening.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, The Carriage House was built in 1908 as part of the Watson family estate called High Gate. It was designed by Horace Trumbauer, architect of The Biltmore Estate. Your wedding will have the elegance of a by-gone era. The elements of character show through with a terra cotta roof and verdigris copper accents that are trademarks of the Tudor Revival Style architecture. The event can be held inside the Carriage House with up to 135 guests or under the high-peaked tent in the garden that can accommodate up to 260 guests.

The Ellis House is a reimagined boutique Venue and Event space located in Fairmont, WV. With a love for the Wedding Industry, local residents and business owners, Cathy & Ben Burnheimer, took over the property January 1, 2021. Maintaining the integrity of the 150 year old barn, the couple transformed the space to the beautiful venue it is today. Avenue in Sarver is the premiere place to host all of your special events.
