Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

4.8

  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Charlotte, TX

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Because of all the florals already there due to the nature of the venue, and all the florals and plants they filled in, I didn’t feel the need to have a ton of florals, so I did them myself! I found Flower Moxie here on Zola and they were so great! If you are thinking about DIY’ing your florals, I would definitely recommend looking into Flower Moxie! They have some set packages you can chose from, but I upgraded to the highest personalized package and it was so worth it. I got to have a phone call with the florist and they put together a custom package, and they definitely killed it, the flowers were exactly what I had in mind. There were so many resources and they went through everything so well I felt so prepared and we had almost no issues putting all the florals together. All of our florals still looked fresh and beautiful on our wedding day, and some of the florals in our arch arrangements lasted WEEKS. A word of caution though: it is definitely a lot of work, so just ensure that you have enough time in town before your wedding (i.e. you can’t fly in the day before your ceremony, if you are traveling to that location) and enough people to help you (for putting together, transporting and anything day of). I actually really enjoyed getting to do my florals myself, and would highly recommend if you are creative and DIYing your wedding!

Bloom Culture: Do-it-Yourself Wedding Flowers was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. From the very first inquiry, their communication was prompt, kind, and professional. They answered all of my specific questions with personal responses, making the DIY flower process so easy and stress-free. The quality of their work was consistent, thorough, and truly showed how much they cared about making our day special. We saved so much money going the DIY route with Bloom Culture, and it allowed us to create so many wonderful memories putting the arrangements together with our wedding party. I highly recommend Bloom Culture to any couples looking for a reliable, affordable, and caring florist for their wedding. I wanted to do my own flowers to honor my grandmother who was a florist. She passed a few months before the wedding and I just know she would have absolutely loved it and we got to honor her in this way.

Petal and Party Co

5.0

  • Starts at $550
  • Serves Charlotte, TX for additional fees

We're passionate about all things flowers and events! Owners Autumn & Ashlinn have worked in the events industry for over 10 years with hundreds of weddings behind our belts. Fun fact, we also run a wedding venue in Keller, TX where we are in the in-house florist!

I purchased a DIY kit for my wedding in April and the flowers were beyond gorgeous! The whole process couldn’t have been easier. The kit came with flower recipes and a guide that told me exactly how many stems to use and when to make each item! I looked into Sam’s and Trader Joe’s but they just didn’t have the flower variety I was looking for and they definitely don’t offer these extra DIY resources. I was able to sub out some of the flowers and I couldn’t have been happier. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Perry's Petals for any of your floral needs. Lindsey has been amazing, working with us since shortly after we got engaged to bring our vision for our wedding to life. As things changed throughout 2020, she was patient, responsive, and accomodating to all of our requests. She transformed a plastic arbor from Amazon into a work of art and created beautiful, unique bouquets and boutonnieres that perfectly matched the aesthetic of our wedding and brought so much life to all of our photos. She is clearly passionate about flowers and was able to recommend specific varieties that matched our vision. She was just as excited as we were to make it come to life. Wedding planning in 2020 was very stressful, but working with Lindsey was a breath of fresh air and made the process so much easier! We can’t wait to work with her again for our 2021 reception.
