Originally called Cold Spring Ranch due to an ice cold spring. The Dorrington Hotel was built in 1852 by John Gardner who married Rebecca Dorrington and moved her out from Scotland. The North Star House was built during the age of the California Gold Rush as a home and business accommodation for the second largest producing mine in California. It was designed by Julia Morgan, the first licensed female architect in in the State. Her greatest claim to fame is the Hearst Castle. Tahoe Blue Estate is an 8600 SQ FT Luxury Estate sitting on over 1.7 acres of beautiful South Tahoe mountainside. Our home gives you the ability to not only host your wedding (we have both outdoor/indoor ceremony and reception areas), but also has your accommodations built in as well! During your stay (we have a 3 night minimum stay during non holidays), you have the whole home that can provide overnight accommodations for up to 14 people (7 bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms) and you will be able to host your big day for up to 50 guests (including those staying overnight) as well! This means there is no rushing with a day of venue rental, instead you have multiple days to relax and enjoy your wedding stay.
