Our expansive property offers a wide variety of indoor and outdoor spaces, capable of accommodating both small and large groups. Most couples and their guests join us for a multi-day stay, buying out some or all of our property.

The Avery Hotel, built in 1851, is situated on the majestic Ebbetts Pass Scenic Highway 4 east of the historic gold-rush town of Murphys. The hotel is perfect for group vacations and family gatherings. The Bear Valley Ski Resort is located just up the road. Calaveras Big Trees State Park is 15 minutes away. We are located on on year-round Weber Creek. We have an idyllic meadow featuring an amish gazebo and various arbors. We have a bridal room, lodge with cozy fireplace with AC/heat, large commercial kitchen with walk in fridge, restroom and showers with flush toilets, wedding tables and chairs for up to 125 guests (50 cars) . We offer camping weddings including glamping tents, teepees, cabin tents, camp fire bowl, volleyball/ basketball courts. Our philosophy is to provide an affordable wedding venue that allows the bride to customize to her dream wedding. We offer limited availability in the spring and fall. Originally called Cold Spring Ranch due to an ice cold spring. The Dorrington Hotel was built in 1852 by John Gardner who married Rebecca Dorrington and moved her out from Scotland. It served as a depot for stockmen and provided lodging for guests visiting the Giant Sequoias at Calaveras Big Trees State Park. Read more about our history and our permanent guest Rebecca below.
