Our event spaces

The Mansion

Wherever your event takes you, the romantic Gothic Revival Lyndhurst Mansion, renamed in 1865 for the Linden trees planted on the estate, sets the stage for your unforgettable celebration. The doors of the Mansion open as you descend the Great Lawn to your wedding guests and ceremony below. The Mansion, and its plethora of architectural angles, serves as the backdrop for wedding and event photography like no other. Ceremonies can be held on Lyndhurst’s sweeping great lawn with the picturesque backdrop of the fairy-tale mansion and river views. The Carriage House features a semi-permanent tent which hosts up to 250 guests for receptions, dinner, and dancing, and may be expanded to accommodate more.

The Great Lawn

The grounds at Lyndhurst survive as an outstanding example of 19th century landscape design, with the Great Lawn serving as a pristine focal point. A natural and ideal location for breathtaking wedding ceremonies, with the Mansion as your backdrop, the Great Lawn can also be tented for dinners and receptions.

The Rose Garden

Constructed in 1911 by Helen Miller Gould, the Rose Garden was restored by the Garden Club of Irvington on the Hudson in the 1960s and has been maintained by them ever since. In spectacular full bloom during the month of June, the Rose Garden is home to antique, climbing, shrub and many varieties of hybrid roses. A stunning location for wedding ceremonies, with its original stone gazebo where you will be surrounded by breath taking roses or in the architectural Green House featuring a spacious open air ceremony.

The Courtyard

The courtyard of the Carriage complex, originally constructed in the 1860s, is home to most special events at Lyndhurst. Under a beautiful tent and surrounded by vintage cobblestone, receptions and dinners at Lyndhurst are events of remarkable ease and elegance. The Courtyard tent is a white-wall canvas where your event dreams come to life. Dinner and dancing in the flower-filled courtyard make for a stylish soiree that complements your guests’ overall experiences while on the Lyndhurst estate.

The Veranda

On the eastside of the Mansion, overlooking the Tappan Zee Bridge and the Hudson River, the Veranda is an ideal location for your cocktail hour or small, intimate reception. A setting made for natural conversation, semi-enclosed, beneath the open sky, the Veranda was added to the House in the 1860s and is reminiscent of this early era of Victorian fashion, architecture and living.

The Alley Lawn

New to the special event portfolio, Lyndhurst has recently begun to use the lawn alongside the century-old Bowling Alley as a site for tented receptions, dinners and gatherings. The Alley Lawn, home to many tall oaks, sycamore, lynden and chestnut trees, sits beside a small apple orchard and overlooks the Hudson River with views of Hook Mountain, Palisades and the Tappan Zee Bridge. The beautiful 19th century Bowling Alley Riverside Pavilion is set under a canopy of shade trees with a large covered veranda overlooking the Hudson River. The Pavilion is one of the first of its kind in the United States and features two wooden bowling lanes, a tea parlor, and a majestic veranda with views of the broadest part of the Hudson River. The Bowling Alley can host up to 100 guests for rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, themed parties and more.

Lyndhurst Castle was an incredible venue for our wedding. From the very beginning, their communication was fast, easy, and incredibly detail-oriented, which made the planning process seamless. The venue itself is simply stunning - the beautiful, historic castle and grounds provided an absolutely breathtaking backdrop for our special day. Lyndhurst's team went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of, from providing vendor recommendations to making sure every moment of our wedding day ran smoothly. Their dedication to making our day special was evident in every interaction. We cannot recommend Lyndhurst Castle highly enough for any couple looking for a truly beautiful and memorable wedding venue.
