Grace River Island Resort is a stunning private tropical island sunset wedding venue that can host up to 100 guests and a large house that sleeps 20 and is located in the middle of the Caloosahatchee River in Fort Myers, Florida. Most people check in on Thursday or Friday and check out on Sunday or Monday, making it a relaxing wedding weekend. The island is accessible by a land bridge, creating a sense of serenity while still being close to the city. This luxurious resort is well-suited to host sunset weddings ceremonies, rehearsal dinners, destination weddings, and couples hoping to escape for their honeymoon. The owners Mike and Karen Peterson hope that their island serves as a relaxing space for such a magical occasion. It is place that you and your guests will remember forever!

Our large mansion sleeps 20 and gives you time to decorate, have a rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, early getting ready on your wedding day, sunset ceremony, reception and day after pool party, bbq, lawn games, boat rental, etc.

Grace River Island was an amazing venue that exceeded our expectations in every way. The communication and coordination with their team was fantastic - they were direct, clear, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire planning process, even though we were planning our wedding from Minnesota. Their suggested vendor list was a lifesaver and allowed us to find the perfect partners to bring our vision to life. The venue itself was stunning, with a beautiful location that afforded us the opportunity to have all of our friends and family bond over the course of our 4-day celebration. From the guys enjoying whiskey and cigars by the fire pit to the entire wedding party teaming up for a Top Golf outing, the space and amenities at Grace River Island made our wedding weekend an unforgettable experience. We cannot recommend this venue highly enough - the value and quality of their services were truly amazing.

My son & now daughter-in-law had their wedding here 9.14.24. It was absolutely a beautiful setting! Mike is organized and had multiple conversations with us through the entire process. It was so nice that the wedding party could stay with the Bride & Groom on site. They have thought of all the details to stock the resort with everything we might have needed. Mike & Karen were going out of the country on the day of my son’s wedding but left us in good hands with their assistants Skye & Aaron. Everything went great! This is such a beautiful setting from the long entry way to the sunset on the water.

The Grace River Island team was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. They were punctual, attentive, and truly cared about making our wedding day special. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking sunsets and a private, intimate feel that was perfect for our medium-sized wedding. We booked the venue for a long weekend, which allowed us to spend quality time with our guests beyond just the wedding day. The large eating areas, pool, and picturesque scenery made Grace River Island the ideal location for our wedding celebration. I cannot recommend this venue enough - it exceeded our expectations in every way.

We have so many reflections since our daughter’s wedding on March 30 at Grace River Island!! The place is stunning and the support before, during and after the wedding was top notch! Their recommended vendor list was extremely helpful in planning the food, music, and photography for our daughter’s special day. A big shout out to Kerrigan (Wedding Day Planner) and team for all their coordination before and during the wedding. We continue to reflect on this momentous event in our lives and thank you and everyone involved for making it perfect … and we mean PERFECT!

Yes, you can supply your own alcohol. If you do, we will require Liquor Liability Insurance for your wedding. If you hire a Licensed Bar Supplier (typically your caterer), you will not have to purchase Liquor Liability Insurance.

July, August, September

Since we are private tropical island, our parking is limited. We have space for 40 cars. If you have close to 80 guests, we suggest that you put Limited Parking (Uber, Lyft, or Carpool) on your invitations.

Yes, all our facilities are wheelchair accessible. We have a ramp to the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception area, as well as a ramp into the house. In the house we have 2 roll in showers.

Set up, tear down and clean up, guest tables, serving tables, cocktail tables, sweetheart table, white linens, courtyard and reception deck market lighting, 2-post arbor, and onsite person throughout your wedding day to assist your planner. Since you are renting the property for the whole weekend, you can schedule your rehearsal/rehearsal dinner the night before, all day getting ready, and a brunch/lunch fun day on Sunday.

People typically check in on Thurs at 4pm, Friday decorating and rehearsal, Saturday wedding, Sunday fun day, Monday check out at 10am. This makes for a relaxing and stress free wedding weekend.

All payments made including deposits, are are not refundable after they are paid. We require a $4000 deposit to hold your dates. Then 2 more payments due typically 1 year out and 6 months out. We suggest purchasing wedding insurance if you fell like this may be a concern. A $15000 cancellation insurance policy typically costs around $500.

Our venue is 20 minutes from Fort Myers (RSW) airport, 25 minutes from Punta Gorda (PGD), 2 hours from Tampa (TPA), Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Miami (MIA) and 2.5 hours from Orland (MCO). Uber and Lyft are readily available and encouraged. You will access the island via a drive-able causeway (driveway) from the mainland.

Liquor Liability Insurance is required if you choose to supply your own alcohol and this will be included with General Liability Insurance. You can purchase General Liability Insurance (Optional) even if you are not serving alcohol.
