About this venue

Your Dream Oasis for a Magical Catskills Wedding. This secluded, breathtaking estate is situated on 10 acres and 3 private bodies of water, with its own private island. The property emanates sacred energy. Over time, it has served us a venue for weddings (from Chassidic to Hindu and all in between), as well as yoga and intimacy retreats, and concerts. The landscaping is designed around a sacred octagonal shape — w/ an octagonal gazebo on the island, and the main house being an octagon as well. Parking for 80+ cars, and lots of vendor staging areas. Hold your ceremony near a majestic lakeside weeping willow tree, on the island (inside or outside of gazebo), or in a clearing surrounded by flowers, facing the lake. Includes a 1,400 sq ft separated poolhouse for indoor cocktails, a beautifully appointed honeymoon suite w/ private kitchen/living room, and a 3BR main house, w/ wrap-around balcony overlooking the water, 20-foot tall stone fireplace, and a majestic 700 sq ft main BR.

We loved celebrating our special day on this exquisite nature escape in the heart of the Catskills. It’s a completely private setting and our sixty person event didn’t feel like we used a fraction of the space. Between the pool house, gazebo, willow trees, and yoga clearings, everyone felt like they had retreat tailored just for them. The honeymoon apartment was just what we needed and the energy of the beautifully designed main house is as spiritual as it is practical. Highly recommend using this space for your special once in a lifetime occasion like we did.

The private approach to Casa del Monte is the entry into special time in a gorgeous setting. The custom-built octagonal home is stunning. The view from the deck, over the pond to the Zen pagoda is breathtaking at all times of day. The flowing layout to a spectacular pool house with an impressive bar and soaring windows is dreamy. I appreciated having easy access to bathroom and kitchen from our lawn party. This place is unforgettable! I’ve had the privilege of attending a few events at the estate, and it just keeps getting better. The couple’s tasteful decor from their global travels and their art collection are just marvelous icing on the cake. It’s an inspiring and relaxing place, where magical moments naturally arise.

Absolutely stunning venue! I was fortunate to be surrounded by nature’s beauty while working a post-ceremony party there as a bartender. Lea and Dov were equally warm and communicative with partners/vendors and their end-clients.They foster peace while some venue hosts foster discord. They addressed questions and concerns easily and quickly. The property is beautiful and well maintained. All of the guests were enjoying the vastness of the grounds and views of the lake on such a gorgeous day. Overall, a wonderful, easeful experience and an atmosphere that is captivating and picturesque.

59 Hazelnis proved to be a gorgeous, ideal wedding site for my 100-person gathering. I'd give it my highest recommendation. The owners were delightful to work with. The estate centers on an octagon-shaped house with a big homey fireplace. The spacious pool house was ideal for the reception. We held our wedding ceremony in a gazebo surrounded by nature on an island in the center of the pond down the slope from the house. It was a picturesque meditation in nature. The fresh air of the Catskills and the vivid greenery provided the perfect backdrop. The gardens and grounds surrounding the property were beautifully manicured and inviting. This is a wonderful site for a sacred ceremony!

There are several: 1) A larger ceremony area facing the first lake, with the weeping willow on the right and one’s back to the main house; 2) A more intimate ceremony area on the island (accessible by bridge from the main area of the property), with a beautiful, octagonal gazebo. 3) A private clearing, surrounded by beautiful hedges and flowers, facing the back lake.

For an outdoor ceremony in the main meadow, you can seat up to 300 and you could have a couple of hundred more on a standing basis. You could also add 40-50 overlook seats on the second floor balcony. The limitation is likely to be more on the parking side, where once you hit about 100 cars, it’s a little crowded and you need a parking valet.

There are several ways to answer this. For a more bohemian weekend wedding, you could fit 200+ people in camping tents/glamping yurts throughout the property, with access to toilet/shower trailers (that we can arrange). The main house and honeymoon apartment can only fit 10-12 people in private rooms/bedding areas, plus another 8-10 with existing day-beds and added air mattresses (which we can provide).

Absolutely. We have various connections locally, for traditional fare, kosher catering, vegetarian, etc. We also know reliable bartenders/service staff, and great local musical acts.

Yes. You have privacy except the back corners of the larger lake furthest from the main house. You are welcome to swim, paddle board, kayak, etc. (we have these supplies), and you can fish as well. The only limitation will be seasonal algae, which is safe but can be a little unpleasant in certain parts — especially in the front/small lake. Loch Sheldrake, a large swimming lake (with no motorboats allowed) is only a two-minute drive or 10-minute walk from the main house.

Yes. If you are picking the weekend option with lodging, the poolhouse is available for use. There is also a well-stocked indoor gym which guests can use. For the day-long weddings, we open the poolhouse for cocktails and for vendor staging, but not for swimming.

Yes, we charge a corkage fee of $10 per bottle for wine and liquor, and a $75 fee for beer kegs/taps.

Yes, we have a ton of free and valet parking options, which are negotiated into each package. We prefer not to offer in-and-out privileges or self-parking, but we can clear a parking area for this, accessible for vendors and limited wedding participants.

Yes, all of the outdoor areasare wheelchair accessible, as is the poolhouse and the honeymoons suite. Only the main 3BR house is not wheelchair-accessible.

We can offer event insurance once we have details of size and timing (at our cost, not a profit center). Of course you are welcome to get your own, which we would need to review.

1) NYC: Between 1.5-2.5 hours, depending on which Borough (Manhattan and the Bronx are the closest, and Brooklyn and Staten Island are the furthest). 2) Philadelphia: 3 hours 3) Boston: 4.5 hours.

We typically charge 40% upfront, to hold the venue reservation; then we charge an additional 40% 60 days before the event, and the last 20% the day of the event. Outside vendors will have their own policies on payments and cancellations. Booking fees for our facilities, and all payments made, including deposits, are non-refundable.
