The CSULB Japanese Garden was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the moment we first reached out, the staff was quick, insightful, and provided detailed responses to our questions. The venue itself has a quiet, chic, and calming atmosphere, allowing the natural beauty of the gardens to shine. They were extremely accommodating, helping my children take advantage of all the activities available. Under the new management, they were able to work with me much closer than any other venue I had considered. Omar in particular was a pleasure to work with, and their pricing was very fair. I would highly recommend the CSULB Japanese Garden to any couple looking for a serene, nature-inspired setting for their special day.

The CSULB Japanese Garden is a hidden gem for weddings and events. Their communication style is prompt, professional, and polite - they are clearly invested in making your event a success. The venue itself is gorgeous, with a clean and quiet atmosphere that provides the perfect backdrop for a special day. As a repeat customer over the past 2 years, I've noticed a significant improvement in the quality of events since the new ownership took over. They are attentive to every detail and wonderful hosts. The CSULB Japanese Garden is also budget-friendly, making it an excellent value for couples planning their wedding.

No, all alcohol must be ordered through our in-house vendor.

Yes, parking is available in the lot adjacent to the Garden (G4). Clients may purchase a parking permit for the event, or have guests pay and self-park.

Yes, all our facilities are wheelchair accessible. We also have ramps at the main and side entrances.

Yes, if you are going to take staged/professional photos, we do require the closure of the Garden for your shoot.

We welcome all ADA trained service animals, however non-ADA compliant pets are not allowed on the premises.

No, unfortunately we have an exclusive contract with our captured caterer that does not allow for third party catering. The packages are listed in our bio and are primarily served plated, with buffet style being an extra cost.

It normally takes 5-15 minutes to walk around the garden, however we do reserve an hour per tour appointment to plan your event.

We do not host events during times of bad weather. Subject to availability, the day of the event may be rescheduled. The rescheduled event must occur within one calendar year of the original date, and the new date must not exceed the current value of the contract. If the date holds a higher value of the current contract, client must pay the difference in price.

Yes, koi fish food may be added at a cost.

Once we reach event capacity, we will need to close the event doors for safety. Additional guest must be confirmed at least 7 days before the event.

Yes, for $120 ($100 for CSULB Alums) you can get the Family Membership that gives you access to over 800 museums with NARM (North American Reciprocal Museums Program).

Yes, you are allowed to bring in your own decor but are not allowed to bring in live plants. We do not allow the use of modification or altercations that could damage the property such as nailing, screwing and stapling. We also do not allow any scattering, such as confetti, no confetti cannon, no fake pedals, no glitter and no artificial or synthetic decor.
