About this venue

The Aquarium of the Bay is San Francisco's premier waterfront located right next to world famous Pier 39. Our aquarium is home to a diverse animal collection of over 24,000 animals. You will be able to walkthrough or sit in the tunnels seeing fish and sharks swimming all around you making you feel like you are swimming. Touch some of our leopard sharks, bat rays, and starfish in our transparent touch pools. Our outdoor terrace overs stunning views of the San Francisco skyline including the Bay Bridge, Coit Tower, and the Transamerica Pyramid.

Under the Bay

Dive down while staying dry and see fish and sharks swimming all around you. It will feel like you are underwater.

We have 2 tunnels that can be set up for sit down dinner or a cocktail reception. At an additional charge we can have one of our divers dive down and hold up a sign of your choice with a special message.

Bay Lab

Meet some of our animal ambassadors. Touch a shark, bat ray, starfish, and many more. Learn more exciting facts from our educators

This space has 2 touch pools offering an interactive experience to touch some of the animals. In the center of the room there is an educational center which is a great place to host a bar or to listen to an educator presentation, along with animal encounters.

Otter Terrace

Take in the iconic views of the San Francisco skyline such as the Bay Bridge, Coit Tower, the Transamerica Pyramid and others.

This terrace sits adjacent to the Farallon Room. It can be rented out for a day event or evening event. There is a side staircase allowing for easy access to it

Next to our playful river otters this room you can use this for a dance floor, reception, sit down meal, or anything else.

This room can be closed for a day event when the aquarium is still open to the public or evening event. There is a kitchen and projector screen as well.

Discover the Bay

See a school of sardines swimming around along with a life size Megalodon Jaw! Also see some of the animals that live right below the Pier.

This room also has a green screen and the background image can be customized with different background images or creating a banner or border on the photos. Our green screen photographer offers digital and print photos at an additional charge. This whole room is great to have a cocktail reception with a bar and appetizers.
