    My sister hired Athena to plan and coordinate her wedding, and our family absolutely loved her! From the very beginning, Athena provided constant support and guidance. Without her, my sister's day would have been chaotic—especially since it was a backyard wedding with limited vendors.     I feel so lucky to have met Athena—she’s not just a wedding planner; she’s someone who truly pours her heart and soul into what she does. The first time we worked together was at a wedding at Elliston Vineyard, where she was the coordinator. From morning until night, Athena was nonstop—checking on the couple, coordinating with vendors, and making sure every little detail was perfect. She was so dedicated and attentive, it was impossible not to be impressed. Since then, I’ve had the chance to work with her a few more times, and each experience has only made me admire her more. Athena has this incredible ability to listen carefully to what her clients and vendors need and then handle everything with such efficiency and care. She’s someone you can count on completely, no matter what challenges come up during the day. What really stands out about Athena, though, is how she makes everyone feel. She has this amazing energy that’s both calming and uplifting, like you’re talking to an old friend. She creates such a fun and positive vibe that you can’t help but feel at ease around her. One moment I’ll never forget was during the reception’s open dance floor—Athena joined in, dancing with the guests and getting everyone hyped up. It wasn’t just her planning skills that made the night special; it was her ability to bring so much joy and connection to the celebration. If you’re getting married, I can’t recommend Athena enough.     My son married a girl from China. They wanted a Western-style wedding, but I hadn't planned a wedding in 30 years, the bride didn't really know what was involved and her mother couldn't meaningfully participate (she speaks no English and was still in China). So I did all of the planning with the couple's input. Finding Athena was a lifesaver, and I can't recommend her highly enough. I didn't have any kind of checklist, but she certainly did, and she listened carefully as we went through hers. She quickly figured out what was and wasn't important and what our budget could allow, and kept that in mind in suggesting vendors (catering, photos, flowers, cake, linens). Once we picked a vendor, she continued to interface with them, and handled all of the logistics in getting the venue set up beautifully on the special day and making sure the vendors were taken care of. There were many special touches she added that delighted us and got the attention of the guests. She practically stood guard over the cake table to make sure that everyone who had special dietary needs got the right choice. And she thoughtfully probed whether the bride or her parents might want anything that is customary in Chinese weddings. They didn't, but were pleased she thought to ask. She had clear guidance on what to do on the day of the wedding -- what to bring to the venue, when to arrive, what to expect. She had worked with our photographer before, so they could communicate expectations to each other and to us. Having a clear plan for who needed to be where when kept the confusion and anxiety down. I wish we hadn't wasted money on a "wedding planning" book. We hardly opened it after we started working with Athena. If we had a question, or woke up worried about something, she responded quickly to emails and texts and helped us keep our heads on straight. The couple have nothing but fond memories of their big day, and I credit Athena with taking so much of the load off of them and me. Worth every penny.
