Events by Tyra is a black-owned, woman-owned wedding and event planning service provider based in Maryland. All are welcome! We offer full service planning for the couple that wants to make decisions, but doesn't want to be bogged down with all the details. Partial planning is available to couples that want to be more hands-on with hiring vendors and handling details, but might need just a bit of help when it comes to design and vendor management. Wedding management is perfect for couples that have already selected their vendors, planning their wedding, and are looking for help for the last couple months leading up to the wedding.

I pride myself in running my business on a foundation of trust and relationships. This means that, from the time of booking and beyond your wedding day, I am constantly looking to build that foundation. I want a working relationship of trust with you, your family, your wedding party, and your vendor team. To me, this is the only way that wedding day can be successful.

I rarely meet anyone in life that is as Type A and detail-oriented as I am, but Tyra was my match. I've done a lot of event planning in my own career, but you really can't be your own planner especially in the weeks leading up to the wedding on the day itself. Tyra thought of absolutely everything I needed her to think of and more! And no matter how well a wedding is planned, there are always weird things that pop up as you get to the finish line and during the wedding itself--Tyra handled all of those so my hubby and I could enjoy the day. She had absolutely everything covered to the point that I actually felt a bit guilty about how little I did because, hello, that's my personality. As for Tyra's personality--well, she's the best. Super duper friendly, professional and like a good BFF, not afraid to give it to you straight. Highly, highly recommend. P.S.--This was a second wedding for my hubby and I, and it was a very small group. If you figure you don't need a planner because your wedding is going to be intimate, you're wrong. Trust me when I tell you that you still need someone to coordinate with the vendors, make sure the ceremony musicians aren't dead, talk you through a tuxedo crisis, and literally sprint to jump into your officiant's car, who is lost and driving around the mall looking for the venue. ;)
