Hi! I’m Trevaughn Smith (he/him), a published queer wedding & portrait photographer based in the DC, Maryland & Virginia area. A hopeless romantic with a camera, I’ve made it my life’s work to become a visual storyteller for couples who value authenticity, individuality, and non-traditional love stories. Trained as a photojournalist, I’m great at blending into the background and capturing honest, unscripted moments — the kind that reflect your real connection. Whether you’re exchanging vows on an LGBTQ+-owned farm or celebrating love at the Maryland Renaissance Festival, I’ll be there to document your day as it naturally unfolds.

My style is laid-back, colorful, and focused on what makes your story unique. I don’t believe in stiff poses — just real emotion, candid joy, and the little moments that matter most.     If I could rate Tre higher I would. We hired him for our wedding and we loved him. He was honest and direct, not to mention he knew how to have fun! He adapted to all the craziness we threw at him (cat, moon bounce, basketball, etc.). 10/10, stellar, amazing, (give me a second as I look in the thesaurus to find more synonyms). Definitely looking forward to hiring him for more events in the future!

    Tre was communicative, responsive, and flexible. He was very receptive to last minute requests throughout the process, including changes to contracts, dealing with potential thunderstorms on the day of the wedding, and adding additional photographs to the gallery. We appreciated his vivid, naturalistic style, and received compliments from guests about his ability to blend in and capture meaningful moments. Throughout the process, he responded to emails and texts quickly, and delivered the finished photos ahead of schedule. We really appreciated all of his hard work before, during, and after our wedding!

    Trevaughn and his team are absolutely phenomenal! They made everything so easy and the pictures came out incredible. If you want the coolest, most beautiful wedding photos you can stop right here. This is the one! From the first call through the event itself, his team went out of their way to get the best shots, coordinate posed photos throughout the night, and helped us record the greatest night of our lives in pictures we will treasure forever. Hire this photographer!! Trust!!
