About Terrence Irving Photography
Terrence Irving Photography
Black Connecticut wedding photographer, purveyor of the artistically-engineered photography experience. That's a crafty way of saying, I'm a computer nerd who's pretty good at photography and believes in great service! Digital image gallery, print rights, and beautiful, physical prints included with every package. My work focuses on telling my couples’ wedding day love stories through the pictures I capture. Artwork is the goal, whether it’s a highly-stylized posed photo or a moment where a loved one is emoting.
Your wedding should be enjoyable. That’s from having fun with your attendants while getting ready, to looking into the eyes of your partner during the ceremony, too dancing the night away. My feeling is, capturing those moments artistically as they unfold is truly…an art. I always joke that I pretend that I’m a ninja on wedding days. Couple’s portraits are important, too! I truly love these moments and approaching them by giving you promoted direction. One of my goals is to make sure that the photos I provide are aesthetically pleasing and will stand the test of time. Another one is to make things easy.

A Dedicated, Experienced Photographer
We found Terrence very early on in our wedding process. His gallery had some of the most beautiful photos we had ever seen; some were dramatic, which is what my husband loves, others were soft, warm, and candid, which were my favorites. To find a photographer that could fit both of our styles was so exciting. Terrence’s package was over our budget, in part because we were marrying in NY, so would have to pay a travel fee. I was convinced I could find someone within budget. I searched and agonized for an additional two months. Finally, my now-husband convinced me that the photos would be the one thing from the day we would get to keep forever and we sprang for Terrence and let me tell you, both of us have agreed the extra cost was more then justified. In high heat and humidity and looming storms, Terrence did everything he could to keep us on-schedule and to get incredible photos at a venue he had never even been to. We just received our sneak peak gallery and all of us are in awe of the photos he captured. We look forward to working with Terrence in the future for other big life moments, and you should absolutely book him too - engagement shoot or wedding, Terrence will capture your moment perfectly!
AMAZING photographer to work with!
Terrence was an absolute joy to work with for our wedding photography. His easygoing and respectful communication style made us feel at ease through the entire process. On the big day, Terrence captured all those special moments with his creative eye and professional work - from the heartfelt exchanges at the altar to the entertaining dancefloor antics later that night. The final wedding album beautifully encapsulates the love and joy we felt. My mom couldn't stop raving about Terrence's incredible talent and tireless work ethic to document every important moment. An overall amazing experience with Terrence!
I would definitely recommend Terrence to anyone in need of a wedding photographer! Our wedding was 10/6/23 and Terrence did an amazing job capturing the fall feels! Terrence is very organized and consistently keeps you updated with helpful tips and timelines to ensure you are on the right track! He goes above and beyond to ensure he knows exactly what you want/are looking for and was able to capture all the important photos! Terrence spends extra time to create a wedding day timeline, text/calls to check in and help in any way, and calm the stress/nerves that come on the wedding day. He was always offering to help in any additional way to ensure our day ran smoothly. Terrence has a great style to his photos and creates art not just pictures. We were so happy we chose Terrence as our wedding photographer and highly recommend to anyone searching!
The one thing I was not stressed about
Our photography was the one thing that I was truly not stressed about at all for our wedding. We had reached out to a few photographers, but Terrence’s work was by far my favorite. He got back to us promptly and we scheduled time to chat about our wedding and photography needs before we booked. We knew immediately that we wanted to go ahead and book Terrence for our wedding. He was such a wonderful and calm presence. As two people who are fairly camera shy, he really put us both at ease. The day of he was able to roll with things and checked in with us to make sure we were ok with some of the requests from other family members and our wedding coordinator. The tips and guides he sent during the planning process were so helpful and he was frequently checking in and readily available to help answer any questions and provide recommendations. Throughout the planning process and then after the wedding my husband and I kept saying how glad we were that we booked with Terrence and didn’t decide on the guests phones or a "friend of a friend who has a camera” route to capture our day. From start to finish Terrence was incredibly organized and professional. Both our “sneak peak” photos and the finished gallery came quicker than I was expecting. The photos truly are wonderful. Terrence has such an eye for detail and we felt he really understood what was important to us and was able to capture that. Terrence really is a wonderful photographer, we truly can’t say enough good things.
