My name is Sarah James Middleton, and I am a Wedding and Boudoir Photographer located in the DMV area. I am obsessed with capturing love. I strive to find the little moments and capture them so you can hold onto them forever. Love and a little magic go a long way to making your day better than you imagined. I'm here to document the real, the raw, and the romantic. Let's make something magical together.

A graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art, I have spent the past few years working in both freelance and editorial production in NY and D.C and have shot over 100 weddings in over 25 states! One thing that sets me apart from other photographers is that I’ve worked for years directing models- this comes in handy with making sure we get the best shots and most flattering angles and also with making you the most comfortable you can be on your big day!

    Sarah James was an absolute delight to work with for our wedding photography. From our first conversation, she was warm, calm, and thorough in explaining her creative process and making sure she understood what we envisioned for our big day. The results of her work speak for themselves - the photographs Sarah delivered are stunning, gorgeous shots that perfectly capture the joy and love from our wedding. Her creativity in posing us and utilizing lighting and angles brought out the best in all of us. We couldn't be happier that Sarah was part of our vendor team. Her communication and professionalism gave us confidence leading up to the wedding, and the beautiful photographs she delivered will allow us to relive our special memories for years to come.

    Sarah was amazing to work with! We first did our engagement photos with her and knew she was the right photographer for us. My husband is not super comfortable in front of the camera, but Sarah and Jack (her partner/second shooter) helped put him at ease for our photos! I love her photography style and editing, and I feel like her team truly captured the beauty and love we felt on our wedding day. Sarah was very easy to communicate and work with and I feel like she listened to my vision and knew the key shots I wanted for the day. She also was incredible with time management, ensuring we got all of the shots we needed so we didn't have to miss much of our cocktail hour or any of our reception! Her turnaround time was also super quick, as we had all of our photos back in about 6 weeks (we also got married in September, a high volume time for her!). Can't recommend Sarah enough, we will continue to use her in the future for milestone photos!

    Sarah James Photography was the perfect choice for our wedding photographer. From the first time we spoke, Sarah and her partner Jack were incredibly responsive, calming, and quick to address any questions or concerns we had. Their professionalism, talent, and supportive, reassuring approach put us at ease throughout the entire process. On the day of the wedding, Sarah and Jack complimented each other perfectly, bringing the best energy and making us feel less awkward since we don't take many photos. They captured the fun, energetic vibe of the night beautifully. They were also super friendly and nice to all our guests, who loved working with her. We're thrilled with the photos so far!!
