Wedding, Portrait, & wildlife Photographer based out of Missoula Montana with over 30 years of experience. My love for photography started back in the days of film photography when I use to hand develop film and print my own images. Times have changed and I no longer shoot film but my love for photography still remains.

Creative, easy going, fun, yet assertive enough to meet those important wedding day timelines while still capturing all of those special wedding day memories. I also have the ability to not only photograph your entire wedding day but also help coordinate the days events working with florist , wedding planners, Dj's, parents, and even cousin Eddie if he gets out of hand.

    Mark photographed our wedding in a very rural area and was able to accommodate this location. I don’t think just any photographer would be willing to join us in the middle of nowhere (even with the mountain views). He was extremely professional and a great communicator. I appreciated his direction and advice, along with his openness to go to specific locations within the property, per our requests. The quality of photos we received were worth much more than we paid. We truly did not have a bad photo in the bunch. He took so much care editing, and I greatly appreciated that. I highly recommend Mark, and I will be requesting him to photograph my family in the future.

    If you're searching for Montana's finest photographer for your special occasion, look no further! Mark Payton Photography is without a doubt the guy you've been attempting to find. Although I've only known Mark for a few years, I can't help but wish I knew him back when I was in high school. If I had, my senior pictures would've turned out far better than mine had me looking. However, I am very thankful that Morgan and I didn't miss our chance of booking him for our wedding, which even included a "save the date" session. It was honestly a no brainer choosing Mark for the job, and not just because of his easy going, funny, and friendly personality. His creativity, communication, direction, pure talent, and years of experience are simply unrivaled. The list goes on and on for what he truly brings to the table. His fine attention to detail completely brought our wedding day to life. So much so, that PEOPLE Magazine featured his photos exclusively in an online publication highlighting our special day. Mark not only is present to take your photos, but he has the incredible ability to assist with coordination and timeline of the wedding, helping to insure everything runs as smooth as possible. Now some photographers may think they are the s**t, but Mark knows his s**t. He is an absolute wizard behind the lens and totally surpassed our expectations.     Where do I begin? After seeing Mark’s work, we booked our wedding around his availability. He was our “must have” in vendors. The quality of Mark’s photos is sometimes can’t put into words, and you just have too see for yourself. He brings creativity that is unmatchable and comes prepared with all of the best ideas for unique photos that are individual to the bride and groom. Mark knows how to position people down to the smallest of details to flatter everyone and capture an overall great shot. I don’t know how to “pose” in a way that makes me look great, but Mark “poses” you while making the photo look natural and unposed. Mark values his work and his clients and his turn around time for getting photos back is untouchable. Mark interacts with his clients like they are friends, while keeping everything and everyone on track. Don’t have a wedding planner? Mark steps in and keeps your day running on time the best he can. Mark truly goes above and beyond for his clients and his work is the best I’ve seen, not just with my wedding but the others I’ve been a part of that he has photographed. Mark is an artist and a magician behind the camera!
