Why should we hire you?

You are investing in me capturing one of the most important moments in your life & I am investing my heart in your story. You will never be just another client to me. I am in your corner and ready to help make sure your day runs as smoothly as possible. I wholeheartedly believe that authentic love is limitless. It has no labels. So no matter who you are or where you are in this crazy thing we call life, I'm ready to celebrate your love story. I want you to leave your session and/or wedding feeling like you've gained a new best friend for life.

Question 2

How far you in advance should we book our photographer?

Accepted Answer

I am currently finishing booking events for 2024 and into 2025. I only commit to a limited number of weddings per year, so it is definitely important to book as soon as possible. We are often filling popular dates over 12-18 months, even 24 months in advance. Once you have your date (and preferably venue) set — I am more than happy to help finalize your contract and add you to the calendar.

Do you have insurance?

I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.

Question 4

How long will it take to see our pictures?

Accepted Answer

I do my best to get your photos to you as quickly as possible. I know how excited you are. I will provide sneak peeks if you'd like on social media. While your contract states up to 8 weeks, I always try to get them to you faster. The average turnaround time for your full engagement gallery is within 2 weeks and 4 weeks for your wedding gallery.

Do you have backup camera equipment?

Yes, yes, and YES! I bring multiple cameras, lenses and other equipment to use as needed. Typically I/we have at least 3 professional cameras with us at every wedding. We also have multiple backup systems in place after the wedding to keep your images safe.

Question 6

How much is your retainer? What is your payment policy?

Accepted Answer

Local weddings require an $800 retainer for local weddings, while destination weddings require a $1600 retainer. This ensures travel and accommodations can be booked appropriately in advance. Along with your retainer, a signed contract is required to get your wedding on the calendar. To be fair I cannot hold a date without a retainer and a signed contract. The retainer guarantees that I will hold your date exclusively for you and turn down all other inquiries. The remaining balance will be accessible through your client portal to create your payment plan. The remainder of your balance is due no less than two weeks before your wedding.

Question 7

How many hours of coverage do we need?

For Friday thru Sunday weddings, I typically recommend 8 to 10 hours of coverage. Typically 8 hours will cover the end of getting ready through the important parts of the reception. If you really love the getting ready and detail photos or are planning a grand exit such as sparklers, then you may want to consider booking 10 hours of coverage to make sure we can fit all of those memories into your timeline. The only time I recommend booking more than 10 hours of coverage is for specific weddings that might have 2+ locations and/or couple’s who are having long ceremonies. (For example Catholic or Hindu Weddings).

Question 8

Will you Photoshop my images to hide any blemishes, wrinkles, scars etc?

Accepted Answer

Color correction and minor edits for blemishes will be made to all of your portraits, but I believe in celebrating the beauty and uniqueness of who you are. If there is something you view as an imperfection, please let me know about specific edits you want. These may be charged according to the number and complexity of edits.

Do you travel?

Accepted Answer

Yes! I LOVE to travel & photograph destination weddings! I've photographed weddings as far as The Cayman Islands. We lived in Hawaii and Washington before relocating to Missouri to be near family. I typically plan to fly in approximately 2 days before the wedding. I am more than happy to create a custom wedding collection to suit your travel needs.

What happens if you get sick or cannot photograph our wedding?

First of all, let me reassure you that in my entire career, with over 200 weddings and countless portrait sessions, I have never missed a wedding. I have photographed a wedding with Pneumonia (pre-covid), several weddings with a broken arm, and even a wedding just a few days after my dad unexpectedly passed away. I understand that this is a once-and-a-lifetime day for you and I do not take that lightly. But IF something were to happen, a contract is in place to protect you and I have a wide network of trusted photographers that can step in if absolutely necessary. I promise, I've got your back!

Question 11

Will my photos be posted publicly on your site or social media?

Accepted Answer

I respect your privacy and allow each client to decide whether or not they want their photos displayed publicly. I’d love to show off you & your images if you’re game! If not, that's okay, too.

Question 12

Will our photos be featured in a magazine or a blog?

Accepted Answer

While we have had many sessions and weddings get featured, this isn't something that is guaranteed. Most publishers are interested in uniquely designed weddings with a lot of details.

Question 13

Do we need a second photographer?

Accepted Answer

This is purely up to you! While I can easily photograph the wedding just myself, I find that a lot of my couples appreciate having my second photographer there to assist in capturing additional moments and helping keep things from getting behind. This is especially true for the ceremony & reception. For example, I can stay focused on those special moments between the two of you while my second photographer can focus on moments happening with your loved ones. Either way, you can decide this based on what parts of the day are most important and/or what your budget allows.
