Trudy’s has been serving authentic, scratch-made Tex-Mex recipes and inventive cocktails from day one. The furthest thing from a chain you can get, we’re a local treasure offering great food and a genuinely good time. We’ve been an Austin institution since 1977.

At Trudy’s, you can always count on a satisfying meal and a memorable night. We make our delicious, authentic Tex-Mex recipes from scratch, and we’re not shy about portions. When you come to Trudy’s, you know you’ll be served the recipes you love at a reasonable price. Trudy’s is for everyone: Young, old, families, college students, working folk, and party people.     I have been a fan of Trudy's since I moved here for college around 2007. They've gone through some changes in the last year or so due to new ownership, but at the time of our reception (10/17/21), they were still using the original catering menu. Brunch is probably our favorite meal (we have it every chance we can), and Trudy's had a great mix of Tex Mex and Southern Comfort food. We choose migas, creme brûlée French toast, bacon, red potatoes, fruit, baked brie bite with habanero jelly, and chips, queso, and salsa of course! It was amazing. Everyone loved it! We also chose the coffee option (venue provided bar service and non-alcoholic drinks, we provided alcoholic drinks). Very reasonably priced when we signed on. We probably looked into at least 10 catering vendors. Very happy with the service, quality, and price!
