We recently hired John & State of Affairs to cater our wedding. He was highly recommended by multiple sources but unfortunately did not live up to the recommendations. Overall the food was fine and delivered almost on time. However this was after they showed up late without any contact (we briefly believed they were not coming at all, which panicked us and our coordinator). He failed to provide two main components of our contract: napkins and, most importantly, the non-alcoholic drinks, including water, and the bartender refused service of our mixers in replacement to several guests. The bartender also attempted to shut down the bar well before the agreed upon time, thankfully saved once again by our day of coordinator. And to top it off, they ran out of food despite several less people at the wedding than our final count to the caterer included. Thankfully they managed to not ruin our wedding, but credit for that mostly goes to our venue coordinator. We would strongly recommend against booking State of Affairs for your wedding, as the stress and lack of non-alcoholic beverages was simply unacceptable.
