Preferred Sonoma Caterers was founded by Owner/Chef Amber Balshaw and her husband Jim over 25 years ago. Amber’s love of cooking always keeps her excited about food, and that excitement keeps her menus fresh and innovative. Amber has seen trends in food and design come and go (and sometimes come again) over her years planning weddings and other events. She loves to help couples brainstorm new ideas and knows how an event should flow to get everything just right.

    Preferred Sonoma Caterers truly made our wedding an elevated experience for our guests. From the refreshments during the ceremony, the delicious meals at dinner, through dessert and our take home box, the staff went above and beyond at every step. The servers and bar staff were wonderful. Our tasting experience was so intimate and enjoyable. We knew right away that we had made the right choice for our caterer. AnnieLaurie, Yesenia, and the rest of the staff were all so helpful and truly passionate about making delicious food paired with outstanding service. It really felt like working with close friends and family! The food was so delicious! All of our guests raved about their selections (Mary's chicken, pork sous vide, or veggie Napoleon). PSC was even able to accommodate gluten-free and vegan dietary restrictions! We highly recommend using Preferred Sonoma Caterers for your wedding or event.

    For a wedding, two things you hear from people afterwards are whether they had fun and whether they liked the food. You don't need to ask, people volunteer this information. Everyone loved our wedding food. We had done a bit unusual pickings, things that made sense to our story, but Preferred Sonoma were able to make all the items work together and create a delicious meal for everyone. The setup, service and quality of the food were all outstanding. Food is really one of the most important parts of a celebration so you do want to get the best you can afford. Preferred Sonoma was perfect without breaking the bank. We will absolutely choose them for other events in our future.

    We booked with PSC because when we did our tasting we talked to Amber. She told us that she knew the farmers who were growing the vegetables that they were using in their dishes. The food was great with several options. They were easy to work with when it came to the specifics I wanted. The food was even better at the wedding than I remembered at the tasting. The garnishes and details were beautiful and elegant. All my guest commented on how good the food was. Thank you PSC staff for everything!
