Hanami Cake Design was born out of the desire to ensure that everyone can eat dessert whenever they want to! We offer luxury cakes and personalized dessert tables, including cupcakes, whoopie pies, tarts, macarons, pies, doughnuts, and more! We offer an entirely custom experience for our couples, from different sweets, to flavors and designs. We can also offer nearly everything in a variety of allergen-friendly options, including gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free, nut-free, organic, and refined sugar free! We are passionate about creating a unique experience for our couples, a sustainable business for our planet, and dessert for all!

We specialize in truly unique and show stopping wedding cakes, from the inside out! :D We love working with couples to come up with custom flavors for their celebration: flavors that are updated childhood favorites, or pull from family or ethnic backgrounds to combine in new ways, or luxurious twists on traditional classics! Our designs are inspired by nature, art, architecture, and the stories of the couples we meet! We love to play with textures, tier shapes, and details that personalize your cake to you and you alone!     Martha was amazing!!!! We were blown away with Martha's capability in design, flavor and originality. She was very exciting and collaborative in developing the flavors we envisioned for our wedding day. As an Asian American, there is a void in Asian flavors in cakes/designs in the area of Maine/New Hampshire that we are in. She not only is excited about Asian flavor profiles but has training and experiences with this. She not only created a custom cake flavor (Honey Ginger Cake) but custom dessert bar as well (Adzuki hamentaschen, Matcha cupcake with strawberry compote and adzuki vegan buttercream, and Black Sesame-Dark Chocolate Mochi). The desserts and cake were absolutely delicious and everyone raved about the variety and expertise of the desserts. We definitely heard people say that our cake was the best cake they have ever had at a wedding. Not only did she make original recipes for our wedding, but also complied with the number of dietary restrictions that were needed for our wedding day (dairy free). Her cake design and attention to detail was amazing. She made a ton of little easter eggs of our favorite characters and symbols that were important to us. We have been so pleased and would use her again for any specialty desserts we may need for an event or just for ourselves. We cannot wait for our anniversary cake. She is so worth it. There were times she was busy that she warned us about that would make it hard to communicate with her. We understood and trusted her plan and process and couldn't have been happier with everything. Martha brings a ton of great energy to the process of wedding dessert planning. We strongly recommend her and for any Asians looking for an Asian styled/flavored cake, I would recommend Hanami Cake and as the greatest compliment from an Asian her desserts were 'Not Too Sweet." Absolutely Amazing!

    Overall we and everyone one of our guest enjoyed the cake, and cupcakes as nothing was left at the end of the night. The design was exactly what we wanted, and even had a little extra minor details. As far as communication, we reached out early and took a while for a response was told they would reach out closer to date. All communication went with both mine and fiances email addresses but they only responded to one. Missed the cut off day to respond and not get hit with a 300 rush fee due to that, even though we had booked a year in advance and only reduced the number of cupcakes from the original quote.

    Beyond the exceptional flavors of her desserts, Martha is simply a kind, professional, and considerate person to work with. Questions that we had that may have been mundane to her were answered clearly and without judgement, her exuberance for every aspect of the design (getting to know us, our theme, and taste preferences) is clear throughout the process, and though we had several different dietary restrictions, Martha made suggestions that worked perfectly the night of. My wife and I cannot possibly recommend her enough (especially if you love little details). I wish I had pictures to add to the review, so everyone could see the exceptional work that she does.

    I have worked with Martha on many occasions both personal and professional. Her excitement and passion for what she does is matched only by her artistry and desire to create the best taste experience you've ever had. Her details are amazing and the fact that it tastes as good as it looks is pure mastery!
