Janel is a cake and color-obsessed creative, known for her sharp buttercream edges, clean execution, and unique cake design. Janel is the head of Baked Expectations (or honestly, she IS Baked Expectations); a home-based bakery, serving Tallahassee and its surrounding areas. At Baked Expectations, we believe that weddings, love, and people are unique so the cakes that celebrate them should be just as unique too.

Our cakes are couple-focused, design-led, and equally about substance and style. Our cake flavors are non-traditional; with flavors like burnt sugar buttercream and Vietnamese coffee cake, we can turn your favorite non-cake dessert into a cake flavor.

    Janel was great to work with! Creative, accommodating, and most importantly, delicious! We got a two tier cake with vanilla and chocolate marble inside and strawberry butter cream. We worked together on design and everyone thought it was so beautiful!
