Q: Do you learn new songs?

YES! This is one of our specialities. Although we already have a HUGE range of music in our catalog and in our knowledge from working in music, we LOVE learning new songs for an event. Our founder is musically trained and is used to learning new songs to actually perform in a short time, so this is second nature to us.

Q: How early do you come to set up?

We arrive minimum of 2hrs in advance of guests and the event starting. Why? Because we like to allow time for any unexpected changes that can occur in a venue or anything else that may come up. We like to be set up and ready to go early so that your event begins in a calm and smooth way.

Q: Do you take music requests?

We certainly can....however, we like to check in with our couples or whoever hires us to see what their preference is. Some couples don't want us to take any requests. If you do, we are more than happy to take requests and will accommodate them as best as we can. We come to your event with thousands of songs, so 99.9% of the time we can play a request anyone asks for.

Q: What do you wear?

We always check with our clients what the dress code is. Most often we dress formal. We can color coordinate according to the color theme of the event if necessary and/or wear a particular style. We like to glam it up a bit, as we love style, so you may see us in some fabulous metallic pants at one event, or in a strapless ballgown at another. It just depends on the dress code.

Q: Do you provide music for wedding ceremonies or cocktail receptions?

We certainly do! We can provide stylish, low profile, speaker set ups for both ceremonies and cocktail receptions. We also can help you choose the perfect music for both these parts of the evening.

Q: Do you provide other services, such as lighting or photo booths?

We can provide uplighting and party dance floor lighting.

We are a WOMAN-OWNED and run boutique DJ Agency. We don't provide a cookie-cutter DJ service. We custom design the music to suit you and your fiance. We avoid the corny typical DJ experience so you get exactly what you want to hear at your wedding. We understand that DJing your event involves the perfect combination of bringing fun energy, choosing just the right music and being prepared. We always bring love and FUN to every event we are part of.

After working the events and service industry for years as a musician and DJ, our founder Gemma wanted to start the kind of DJ business she would have liked when she was planning her own wedding. Someone easy and fun to talk to, that understood her musical needs. We love working with couples to create the perfect soundtrack. We truly care about everyone we work with. We are really 'down to earth', we pay great attention to detail in the event planning, timeline and music playlists and we make sure every event is custom designed just for you.

The ENTIRE night...we kept hearing "Your DJ is so fun!!!" and we could not agree more! Gemma and Luv'dup DJs was so easy, fun, and stress-free to work with from the very beginning. We were assured that the music we wanted to play would be played, that they had sound/mics/audio/lights all under control, and that Gemma would dance the night away with us. We opted to do the uplighting package, and that was worth every penny too. The whole Luv'dup team was so communicative and professional throughout the entire planning process. We wanted a fun, upbeat feeling for cocktail hour and dinner, and a dance floor that was packed the whole night. Gemma absolutely delivered both, and she read the room SO perfectly to keep playing songs that the crowd would love dancing and singing to. I know I'm biased, but I truly don't think I have never seen a dance floor so crowded and happy at a wedding. We have Gemma and Luv'dup to thank for curating the perfect, joyful party. We could not recommend Luv'dup DJs and Gemma more...especially if you are getting married at Curtis Arboretum!

Gemma was a critical part of how successful our wedding was! From start to finish we always felt confident in her and her team. She was communicative, detail oriented, and an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the planning process and day of. The playlist was very representative of the example playlists we provided, and once the dance floor opened it was packed the entire night. We would hire Gemma 100x over if we could!

Gemma was the best MC we could have asked for! She spun all the right tunes at all the right times and guaranteed that our guests had a blast. On the technical side of things, she managed the audio equipment for the instrumentalists at our ceremony, configured the A/V system at our reception (separate location!), set up our photo booth, and worked a film camera (would you believe that she only has two arms?) all while keeping the party kept going! My wife and I didn’t need to lift a finger. And if I haven’t conveyed it already, Gemma is really, really thoughtful. We’re super lucky for her to have been at our wedding.

Gemma from LUVDUP DJS surpassed all of my expectations! During the planning process, Gemma provided a file with music suggestions & a tab where I was able to input my spotify recs etc. Picking a DJ was something I was worried about, as I did not want the typical cheesy DJ experience. Gemma was the perfect selection! She understood my vision and was able to tailor the day to mine & my husband's needs. Her energy and vibe was fresh, innovative & exciting. I have nothing negative to say about Gemma & LUVDUP DJS - HIGHLY recommend! 10/10
