Situated on 32 acres of forests, including a mile of nature trails and wildflower fields, this unique venue exceeds the dreams of the most creative couples looking to throw a party their guests have never experienced. We, the owners Al and Lyndsey, are both retired wedding photographers who understood the mission, create something we never experienced while shooting over 450 weddings.

In 1900, Frank D. Stout inherited part of his father’s lumber fortune, moved to Chicago, and within a few years was one of the wealthiest men in the country. Stout's was built in 1903 by Frank D. Stout as a summer retreat for his family and modeled after the famous Adirondack camps. Over the past 25 years, new cabins have been erected and we now have a total of 43 guest rooms on the Island. Imagine a ceremony on the South Lawn with panoramic views of Red Cedar Lake or a tranquil gathering in the former Stout Family master bedroom with a wood-burning fireplace. Stout’s Island Lodge offers an elegant yet relaxed setting with a selection of private event spaces for intimate groups to large tented weddings for up to 175 guests.
