The Hartley House (also known as the Bond-Bates-Hartley House) located in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina was built circa 1790 for John Pearson Bond. The house later came into possession of John Bates, husband of John Pearson Bond’s great niece and a member of the family that the town of Batesburg was named for. There are many local legends surrounding this house and it’s friendly visitors. According to local tradition, the Bond-Bates-Hartley House served as a stagecoach stop and post office, prior to the founding of the town of Batesburg. Architecturally the house is a typical upcountry farmhouse, with a portico adapted from the Greek Revival style.

The house, that is now the face of Southern Oaks, was built in 1820. Still with its original wooding and design, this house is what makes our venue stand out from others. It includes a Bridal Suite, Groom's Room, a Den Area for parents and grandparents to relax, and a recently added "Ladies Loft" just for hair and makeup. The home is filled with large, elegant chandeliers and stunning furniture. The property has 3 historic barns, a chapel, 2 patio decks, and the largest reception area in Lexington County. The outdoor area is full of pecan and oak trees, along with a breathtaking lush landscape.

Just imagine your event here at Southwind Acres. Our barn has a true rustic/chic style that can accommodate 200 seated guests and can be customized for the event of your dreams. You have the option of an outdoors ceremony where you and your guest will get pleasure in the lush flowing lawn that is surrounded by many trees and nature. You may also choose an indoor ceremony in our Mini Barn style chapel adorned with crystal chandeliers. With either option you and your guest will be enlightened with a picturesque view that will never be forgotten.

The event space includes a 6,000-square-foot Reception Hall, a 3,000-square-foot Ceremony Space with Grooms Quarters attached, and an 800-square-foot building dedicated as a Bridal Suite. It has two beautifully landscaped garden spaces that can be used for cocktail hour or ceremony spaces. The entire facility has a brick and rod iron privacy fence surrounding the property. The venue includes three historic buildings connected by beautiful cobblestone walkways, lush landscape, landscape lighting as well as cafe lights. The walk from each unique building is just as beautiful as the buildings themselves.

Built in 1904, this beautifully exposed brick venue has been renovated to provide you a space to host casual or elegant events. Bridal suite, grooms area, catering kitchen, patio, indoor and outdoor bars standard with all full day rentals. Just minutes off interstate 26, we are conveniently located and have ample onsite parking. We offer venue rental as well as a tiered service to assist with the details. The Cotton Press offers a variety of services from equipment rental, staffing services and event planning. We do not provide food or drink but allow you to select your choice of approved vendors. Whether “The Cotton Press” is needed for a ceremony, reception, family reunion or conference, we are committed to providing you the perfect space to suit your needs.

Nothing is more important to us than family, which is one of the reasons we started our adventure to build a barn wedding venue. A Place where we can not only work together as a family but we can be a part of new families being formed. We love what we do and we feel truly blessed to be able to be a part of one of the most important, beautiful days a person will ever experience.

In 1874, Father Theodore Butler purchased a home and a lot in Augusta, Georgia, for $10,000.00 to construct a building to be used as a church for the Catholic population and a school for children of all denominations. A simple Victorian structure served as a temporary facility for the church until work could begin on a larger, more significant building for the group. The first bricks were laid for Sacred Heart Church in 1897 and the church opened with the first service on December 2, 1900. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the building features towering twin spires, graceful arches, fifteen distinctive styles of brickwork, ninety-four stained glass windows, a barreled vaulted ceiling, and intricately carved Italian marble altars. Unfortunately, due to a number of factors, the last mass was held in Sacred Heart on July 3, 1971.

The Corley Mill House is an Edwardian-era home built in 1908. The house was purchased and developed into an event venue in 1997 and with the additions of banquet space and gardens in 2001, the property has evolved into a multi-faceted venue for indoor and outdoor events of all types and sizes. The house was purchased in 2020 by Pam and John Banks. We are continually upgrading all of our spaces to make them lovely, but also functional for your entire wedding party. We host over 70 weddings here a year, but only one per day. We are old fashion customer service people. Our goal is to take care of you in every phase of the process.

Chateau Amelia, located in Upstate SC, is a magnificent gem ready to host events of up to 100 guests. The family owned boutique wedding and events venue offers a stunning blend of old world charm with the elegance of modern glam. The Victorian-era historic home is a meticulously kept mini mansion with an extensive wrap-around porch, while our events barn is a thoughtfully designed events hall all set on 4 acres of gardens. Behind the events barn you will find a cocktail patio with cafe lights and cocktail tables under the canopy of the romantic forest. Follow the pathway from the patio to the wooded backdrop ceremony site equipped with a ceremony arch. Located between the metros of Greenville, SC, Columbia, SC and Augusta, GA and within close proximity to Lake Greenwood, Greenwood, Clinton and Laurens, make this charming venue the place for an unforgettable wedding day.

This river-front property in West Columbia, SC has evolved over time. Once home to a bustling New Orleans-themed restaurant, the property now serves as the Midlands’ premier event venue: Stone River. With the Congaree river and Three Rivers Greenway park easily visible from its large windows, Stone River’s event space is filled with natural light and brings a sense of the surrounding nature indoors.
