The Corley Mill House is an Edwardian-era home built in 1908. The house was purchased and developed into an event venue in 1997 and with the additions of banquet space and gardens in 2001, the property has evolved into a multi-faceted venue for indoor and outdoor events of all types and sizes. The house was purchased in 2020 by Pam and John Banks. We are continually upgrading all of our spaces to make them lovely, but also functional for your entire wedding party. We host over 70 weddings here a year, but only one per day. We are old fashion customer service people. Our goal is to take care of you in every phase of the process.

The Hartley House (also known as the Bond-Bates-Hartley House) located in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina was built circa 1790 for John Pearson Bond. The house later came into possession of John Bates, husband of John Pearson Bond’s great niece and a member of the family that the town of Batesburg was named for. There are many local legends surrounding this house and it’s friendly visitors. According to local tradition, the Bond-Bates-Hartley House served as a stagecoach stop and post office, prior to the founding of the town of Batesburg. Architecturally the house is a typical upcountry farmhouse, with a portico adapted from the Greek Revival style.

A group of professional caterers and hospitality employees envisioned an event space like no other. We were lead to an aging, almost forgotten piece of our past. The old Cotton Depot in Clinton SC quietly sat on the edge of downtown. The building spoke to us, 17,000 square feet of handmade brick each telling a story, 11ft ceilings with exposed beams, arched windows and wide planked floors. We immediately began designing the space. Through our catering experience we knew the need for easy access, a good flow and having conveniently located facilities. We also knew the importance of having multifunctioning spaces that can be dressed up or down to make each event uniquely yours. Just minutes off interstate 26, we are conveniently located and have ample onsite parking. We offer venue rental as well as a tiered service to assist with the details. The Cotton Press offers a variety of services from equipment rental, staffing services and event planning. We do not provide food or drink but allow you to select your choice of approved vendors. The house, that is now the face of Southern Oaks, was built in 1820. Still with its original wooding and design, this house is what makes our venue stand out from others. It includes a Bridal Suite, Groom's Room, a Den Area for parents and grandparents to relax, and a recently added "Ladies Loft" just for hair and makeup. The home is filled with large, elegant chandeliers and stunning furniture. The property has 3 historic barns, a chapel, 2 patio decks, and the largest reception area in Lexington County. The outdoor area is full of pecan and oak trees, along with a breathtaking lush landscape.
