If you’ve had a good time at a wedding or event in the DC/Maryland/VA area, chances are it was DJ Casanova that got you moving. You know him as DJ Casanova, but around the office, we just call him Jamie. Back in the day, he was just a child of immigrants recording his favorite songs over his parent’s cassette tapes (sorry Mom and Dad) so he could listen to them on his prized Walkman. Jamie entered the DJ field in 2009, and before long he was spinning something at a different party every week. Pretty soon he realized that sharing his love of music with like-minded folks was more than just a hobby, it was a gift.

“We had an amazing experience working with Jamie (DJ Casanova) for our wedding in October 2022 (been meaning to write a review for so long)! Jamie was very professional throughout the whole planning process. We actually hired him in 2020 but we had to postpone our wedding twice because of covid (he was very flexible and made the postponement process very smooth). We met virtually/over the phone a few times and he assured us he was available to meet as many times as we'd like. Closer to our wedding date, we had a more formal meeting where we went through the timeline of the whole reception detail by detail. He had a form where we put in all the information, which showed he was experienced at the job. I was very particular about the type of music I wanted to be played at our reception and he was super easy-going about it and assured us that he was there to implement our vision. On our actual wedding day, everything went as planned and honestly even better than I could have ever imagined! I love to dance and so do many of our guests, and thanks to Jamie, the dance floor was never empty even for one second! He knew how to read the room and change the music accordingly. Even after our wedding, everyone couldn’t stop talking about how fun the party was! In sum, I highly recommend Jamie and already have recommended him to some friends looking to get married soon! Whether you wish for elegant classical music, toe-tapping fiddle tunes, or a favorite popular song, I can help you find that perfect sound! I offer high-end wedding sound at an affordable price. The instrument on which I perform is a gorgeous sounding violin made by MacArthur "genius" grant winner, Joseph Curtin. For outdoor weddings I use a Fishman SA330X Performance Audio System which provides terrific amplification without sacrificing the purity of acoustic violin.

“Devin was the perfect touch for our outdoor ceremony. There are not adequate words to describe his musicianship and talent. He went out of his way to make sure that he played exactly what we wanted. Devin also played at our reception and asked our guests if they wanted to hear something specific. My Austrian side of the family asked him to play "Edelweiss," which he promptly began to play. I can not rate this musician high enough. He also played the music for our first dance, which he learned, recorded at different speeds, added bars to the recording, and again, went out of his way to deliver the greatest day of our lives. I highly recommend Devin, and if I ever need a violinist/fiddler again, Devin is the only person I am going to call. As far as professionalism goes, Devin arrived early, and had everything that he needed. He also gave us options for what effects we wanted to come from the speaker. He was quick to respond to emails and we never had any problems getting in touch with him. This musician is a real professional.”
