In 1874, Father Theodore Butler purchased a home and a lot in Augusta, Georgia, for $10,000.00 to construct a building to be used as a church for the Catholic population and a school for children of all denominations. A simple Victorian structure served as a temporary facility for the church until work could begin on a larger, more significant building for the group. The first bricks were laid for Sacred Heart Church in 1897 and the church opened with the first service on December 2, 1900. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the building features towering twin spires, graceful arches, fifteen distinctive styles of brickwork, ninety-four stained glass windows, a barreled vaulted ceiling, and intricately carved Italian marble altars. Unfortunately, due to a number of factors, the last mass was held in Sacred Heart on July 3, 1971.

Our beautiful barn venue is what we refer to as Rustic Elegance. The barn can transform into an elegant space or tone it down for a warm and inviting more rustic vibe. We have a beautiful outdoor area to get married surrounded by trees of all kinds and a large heated and cooled barn (4500 sq ft) for an indoor reception. We can also host the wedding indoors if the couple prefers. Enchanted Acres also has two 600 sq ft cabins to get ready in, one for the bride, and one for the groom. We are located on almost 20 acres of seclusion but yet close to town for guests to stay or a VRBO at the lake.

Built in 1921, our history, architecture, and charm make for an amazing wedding experience! The Victorian-era historic home is a meticulously kept mini mansion with an extensive wrap-around porch, while our events barn is a thoughtfully designed events hall all set on 4 acres of gardens. Behind the events barn you will find a cocktail patio with cafe lights and cocktail tables under the canopy of the romantic forest. Follow the pathway from the patio to the wooded backdrop ceremony site equipped with a ceremony arch. Surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds, we built this venue overlooking our lake to create a relaxing and serene ambiance. The venue includes a luxury bridal suite, groom’s suite, commercial catering kitchen, heating and cooling, outdoor covered areas, ample parking and more. The Hartley House (also known as the Bond-Bates-Hartley House) located in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina was built circa 1790 for John Pearson Bond. The house later came into possession of John Bates, husband of John Pearson Bond’s great niece and a member of the family that the town of Batesburg was named for. There are many local legends surrounding this house and it’s friendly visitors. According to local tradition, the Bond-Bates-Hartley House served as a stagecoach stop and post office, prior to the founding of the town of Batesburg. Architecturally the house is a typical upcountry farmhouse, with a portico adapted from the Greek Revival style.

Just imagine your event here at Southwind Acres. Our barn has a true rustic/chic style that can accommodate 200 seated guests and can be customized for the event of your dreams. You have the option of an outdoors ceremony where you and your guest will get pleasure in the lush flowing lawn that is surrounded by many trees and nature. You may also choose an indoor ceremony in our Mini Barn style chapel adorned with crystal chandeliers. With either option you and your guest will be enlightened with a picturesque view that will never be forgotten.

Bent Creek Farm is located on 52 acres of rolling pastures and wooded trails in Upstate SC. Brides have their choice of five unique sites for their ceremony including our beautiful barn and several rustic romantic outdoor private locations. Our beautiful 1800 square feet climate-controlled barn has many unique features, walking trails with trees, creeks, wildlife, birds and various plants and flowers along the edge. Fully equipped catering kitchen, Bridal Suite, Grooms Room featuring a Pool Table. Seating for 150 to 200 guests, indoor/outdoor venue. Included: • climate-controlled Barn Venue with stained glass • Use of the Bella Terrace; the Mooi outdoor Amphitheater; the romantic Waterwheel venue /rolling pasture. • Eleven 60-inch round tables and tablecloths in White, Black and Soft Gray. • 100 chairs included (indoor)• Use of the Game area that includes a nine-hole Disk Golf; Bocce Ball Court; Horseshoe Pit; 5’ Jenga; Corn hole• Fire Pit /Garden swing Paved Parking

The event space includes a 6,000-square-foot Reception Hall, a 3,000-square-foot Ceremony Space with Grooms Quarters attached, and an 800-square-foot building dedicated as a Bridal Suite. It has two beautifully landscaped garden spaces that can be used for cocktail hour or ceremony spaces. The entire facility has a brick and rod iron privacy fence surrounding the property. The venue includes three historic buildings connected by beautiful cobblestone walkways, lush landscape, landscape lighting as well as cafe lights. The walk from each unique building is just as beautiful as the buildings themselves.

The house, that is now the face of Southern Oaks, was built in 1820. Still with its original wooding and design, this house is what makes our venue stand out from others. It includes a Bridal Suite, Groom's Room, a Den Area for parents and grandparents to relax, and a recently added "Ladies Loft" just for hair and makeup. The home is filled with large, elegant chandeliers and stunning furniture. The property has 3 historic barns, a chapel, 2 patio decks, and the largest reception area in Lexington County. The outdoor area is full of pecan and oak trees, along with a breathtaking lush landscape.
