A group of professional caterers and hospitality employees envisioned an event space like no other. A space vast enough to hold large events without compromising the ambiance and charm of a quaint family gathering. A place rich in history with significant ties to our communities. We were lead to an aging, almost forgotten piece of our past. The old Cotton Depot in Clinton SC quietly sat on the edge of downtown. The building spoke to us, 17,000 square feet of handmade brick each telling a story, 11ft ceilings with exposed beams, arched windows and wide planked floors. We immediately began designing the space. Through our catering experience we knew the need for easy access, a good flow and having conveniently located facilities. We also knew the importance of having multifunctioning spaces that can be dressed up or down to make each event uniquely yours. From the most elegant affair to down home country charm, Cotton Loft is merely a canvas. The picture we paint is yours.

The Hartley House (also known as the Bond-Bates-Hartley House) located in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina was built circa 1790 for John Pearson Bond. The house later came into possession of John Bates, husband of John Pearson Bond’s great niece and a member of the family that the town of Batesburg was named for. There are many local legends surrounding this house and it’s friendly visitors. According to local tradition, the Bond-Bates-Hartley House served as a stagecoach stop and post office, prior to the founding of the town of Batesburg. Architecturally the house is a typical upcountry farmhouse, with a portico adapted from the Greek Revival style.

Built in 1904, this beautifully exposed brick venue has been renovated to provide you a space to host casual or elegant events. Bridal suite, grooms area, catering kitchen, patio, indoor and outdoor bars standard with all full day rentals. Just minutes off interstate 26, we are conveniently located and have ample onsite parking. We offer venue rental as well as a tiered service to assist with the details. The Cotton Press offers a variety of services from equipment rental, staffing services and event planning. We do not provide food or drink but allow you to select your choice of approved vendors. Whether “The Cotton Press” is needed for a ceremony, reception, family reunion or conference, we are committed to providing you the perfect space to suit your needs.

The house, that is now the face of Southern Oaks, was built in 1820. Still with its original wooding and design, this house is what makes our venue stand out from others. It includes a Bridal Suite, Groom's Room, a Den Area for parents and grandparents to relax, and a recently added "Ladies Loft" just for hair and makeup. The home is filled with large, elegant chandeliers and stunning furniture. The property has 3 historic barns, a chapel, 2 patio decks, and the largest reception area in Lexington County. The outdoor area is full of pecan and oak trees, along with a breathtaking lush landscape.

Built at the turn of the 20th century, the River Road House and the Jasmine House are two separate spaces within one venue that have been restored with all the amenities of today, while maintaining the southern charm and architectural splendor of the early 1900's. Our family owned and operated venue offers professional and personalized attention from the very beginning stages of planning, until the last guest departs. Our level of commitment and dedication from our experienced staff is what sets us apart from other event venues, in addition to our almost 30 years of being in business.
