Collage Dance’s founders established the professional dance company in New York City in 2006 in response to the ballet industry’s lack of racial diversity on stage. In 2009, after moving to Memphis, Tennessee, Collage opened its dance conservatory to expand access to classical training to communities of color and prepare them for collegial and professional dance appointments. Lynn, my love since I was 13 years old, and I started thinking about building a venue on the family ground back in 2016. He started clearing out trees and our vision began. Founded in 2013, Mallard’s Croft (Scottish for “small farm”) is a 600 acre farm a few miles south of Collierville, TN, just below the state line in Mississippi. We hosted our first wedding in the renovated barn in the January 2014. Hosting events and making them unique is our driving passion. Decades of reclaiming wood and bricks from historic buildings has allowed us to use reclaimed antique wood and materials in all of the buildings at Mallard's Croft.
