Since 1930, our family has been baking quality products for dessert lovers like you. Our story begins with my father-in-law, John Slove, being hired to work as an apprentice in a Chicago bakery. While there he learned everything there is to know about baking. Then, in 1946, he and my mother-in-law, Grace, opened their own bakery on Diversey Avenue in Chicago – Slove Bakery. Their goal was to produce great quality desserts and provide excellent customer service: he did the baking; she the handshaking. Through hard work and determination, they grew the business and the bakery’s reputation as one of the finest in the Chicagoland area.

Hello! I'm Amanda, born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI. I am a self-taught baker who started baking 10 years ago by starting with cakes and advanced my way up to other baked goods including but not limited to macarons, beautifully decorated sugar cookies and many more. I enjoy every step of the baking process and decorating. It warms my heart to feed others my delicious creations and to hear how much they've enjoyed them.
