Construction on Mistletoe Bough began in 1890 but wasn't completed until 1895. The town banker had the vision to build the grandest home in Alexander City. Raising four boys and one girl, Ruben Herzfeld and his wife Julia built Mistletoe Bough with the perfect combination of elegance and comfort. For over 90 years, The Warehouse has been at the center of Eclectic life. Built in 1928 for Lee Hornsby, the property has been in the family since the 1880s. It held commercial activity for cotton merchandising, lumber and hardware for 3 generations. In 1996, Aubrey Hornsby repurposed it as a social/cultural center. Its massive timbers, red brick walls, old-south charm, natural architectural comfort and grassy lawns inspire down-home livability. It has hosted The Alabama Cotton Festival, church/school events, concerts, theater, receptions and parties. Corporations have used it for photo shoots and as a sound stage. We have held over 600 events including 350 weddings. Upholding the historical structure, improvements have been made to ensure comfort and ease.

Enloe House is a historical Victorian home that had been in same family for 128 years. We offer a storybook setting, with old world elegance and a superior attention to detail, with our beautiful house as a back drop. Walking in the front door is like stepping into the past and the formal staircase is perfect for wedding photos. The house sits on 4.36 ac lot with rolling hills and an expansive yard made for elegant outdoor weddings and events. This magnificent Georgian-style home was built in 1914 for Cornelius Vanderbilt Truitt, a financier, and businessperson, by P. Thornton Marye, whose most famous project was the design of The Fabulous Fox Theatre in Atlanta. In 1937, the house was purchased by Nasour and Mary Mansour, the first generation of dry goods merchants known regionally for their Mansour’s Department Stores, first in LaGrange and then in other major cities in the region. The Truitt Vanderbilt Club has an incredible array of unique and experiential rooms, nooks, porches, crannies, lawns, and one-of-kind spots to make your special event very special.
