The Raymond venue is listed on the National Historic Register as the Raymond Motor Company. Originally a 1920’s garage warehouse, it set empty on the town square for decades. Our dream was to create a space for community and celebration in the heart of our charming downtown. It has been our joy to carefully restore it with extra thought and intention to share a most dreamy and awe-inspiring space. We are owned and operated by three friends and visionaries who are local residents who join many others thinking that Raymond is truly a hidden gem with untold potential. We are delighted to collectively realize a dream and fulfill a commitment to serve our community and state and provide a beautiful celebration space for all to enjoy. Nestled in The Fondren Warehouse District, you will discover The Plant Venue — an industrial warehouse transformed into a modern event space defined by contemporary design and natural elements! Featuring an array of vibrant botanicals and a variety of spaces, The Plant Venue offers a unique urban experience in Mississippi like no other.

Built in the 1850's, The Lowry House is a rare hip-roofed galleried cottage. The house was originally located at 426 Fortification Street, but was moved in 1914 when North Congress Street was extended north beyond Fortification Street. It was the residence of Gov. Robert Lowry, who served as governor from 1882 to 1890, after his term in office. The house was also owned by the Hull family who bought the house in 1908 and was responsible for the additions and alterations that occurred. The home and the lot it now sits on were donated to the Mississippi Heritage Trust by Baptist Hospital in 2006 after being named one of MS 10 Most Endangered Historic Places in 2005.

What is now a natural haven of nearly 2,000 acres began with a deal made from love. Buddy and Joni McClain, who had married in the Chapel, began what was to become a labor of love when they purchased the original 468-acre property. When adjoining acreage became available, they jumped at the chance to expand their domain. The added property included what is now the Guest House, which was built between 1837 and 1841. A descendant of the home once wrote that the property was spared from burning by Gen. Sherman on his infamous march through the South, though he did water his horses in the lake out front, and his men took food and other supplies. Now beautifully renovated, the Guest House offers all the amenities of the home, coupled with the quaint feel of days gone by.

This is an old cotton gin built in thd 1050’s. It is very rustic, homey, & has a boho feel if decorated that way. We can hold 200 people Comfortably but we have had 300 before at a wedding. It can be dressed wag up or you can have a laid back setting.
