About this venue

The Maxwell House is an Historic Landmark & Special Event Space located in the heart of Old-Town Pasadena. Full of unique, historic charm, it is a venue built for making memories! We offer a variety of wedding and special event packages, perfect for any of life’s celebrations! Event rentals include access to the entire first floor, including the main ballroom, grand staircase, sweeping foyer, large dining room, library, full kitchen, and two outdoor patios, in addition to the upstairs mezzanines and wedding suite. Included in our packages is the use of our inhouse equipment such as tables and chairs, artisan crafted wooden wedding arch, dance floor, sound system, bar, outdoor string lighting, complimentary parking, and more!

Traditional Weddings (Entire 1st floor)

A vintage gem full of warmth, charm, and individuality.

Our Traditional Wedding package includes use of the venue for rehearsal, ceremony, and reception. Also included in your rental are tables, chairs, plenty of free public parking in a nearby lot, setup/cleanup, and other complimentary features! Our package is a flat rate, regardless of date or season. There are no discounts for partial use. Best of all, there's no tax on your rental, since the money goes towards supporting the programs of our nonprofit organization the Western Justice Center!

(includes the living room, dining room, library, foyer, mezzanine, kitchen, garden patios, & upstairs wedding suite) Prep/rehearsal time in the space from 1pm-5pm (4hrs) the Friday before the event. Setup & breakdown of furniture owned by The Maxwell House, Access to nearby parking lot + free public street parking available Dance floor

Boutique Weddings (Entire 1st floor)

Our Boutique Wedding package is perfectly designed for the couple who wants to share their wedding with just their closest family and friends.

The Boutique Wedding package includes use of the venue for an intimate ceremony and reception. Also included in your rental are tables, chairs, plenty of free public parking, rental furniture setup, and many other complimentary features! Boutique Weddings maybe held on Sundays only. Boutique Weddings have a maximum capacity of 50 people on the property and we recommend no more than 40 guests, and 20 vendors, but preferably less of both.

    From our first look at pictures of this venue, we fell in love. The architecture and the history of this venue stand out compared to other venues we looked at, and the chance to support a non-profit with our wedding was an extra bonus. All the staff that helped us with everything from planning to the day of were wonderful and really helped the day go perfectly. Even with the threat of rain, we knew we had options for an indoor or a outdoor/indoor wedding. We also have to shout out their Preferred Vendors list as a great place to start building the rest of our wedding vendors.

    The Maxwell House was the perfect venue for our small ceremony, and we appreciated that they offer an elopement package. Rae was a pleasure to work with and answered all of our questions. The Maxwell House is such a gem and a unique venue, and had everything we needed. I highly recommend to any couple!

    I have worked at the Maxwell House a couple of times, specifically with Reid. He is always professional and clear about the house rules, fees and what exactly is included for an event or wedding. He will bend over backwards for you to try to fullfill your requests. On actual event days, there is an onsite venue coordinator overseeing the venue and is periodcically checking in with the event coordinator. In the times I have worked there, it's been pleasant and organized. There is a very detailed checklist leading up to your event to be sure all is covered and addressed. Highly recommended venue.
