About this venue
TWO VENUES ONE TEAM: THE CENTURY + NINE3ONE We offer two full service wedding venues located in Modesto, Ca. With decades of experience in venue, food, and beverage services combined, we are ready to guide you down your planning journey from day one all the way to “I DO!”. The Century is a chic, urban venue built in the early 1900s with exposed brick walls, beautiful crystal chandeliers and gorgeous acacia wood floors. The Century has room for up to 250 guests for reception only, and up to 175 for a ceremony and a reception. Nine3One is a coworking facility located next door to The Century that opened 2019. Nine3One features 3 unique event spaces. The Alcove is the main event space that leads out into The Botanical Breezeway, a completely covered outdoor space that runs the length of the entire building. The Bouquet Bar is a small event space perfect for smaller parties and also makes a great space for cocktail hour. Nine3One has room for up to 70 guests when using all three spaces.

The Alcove is the main event space and has brick walls in a German Smear style, crystal chandeliers and floor to ceiling market lights. The Bouquet Bar is our lovely pink room which works well as a cocktail space for your event. The breezeway joins both of these spaces and can serve as seating space for a King’s Style table or as a well insulated cocktail area.

My Experience at the Century
I first want to acknowledge my wedding coordinatorI I I Erica, as she was friendly and professional the entire process, even when I began to get frustrated by my experience. I guess the whole wedding experience is a little romanticized but I still expected to feel happy and excited while planning my wedding. I live in Sacramento, venues are quite expensive, so when I stumbled upon the century I couldn’t believe it was so affordable and full service. We toured the venue and loved it so much we put our deposit down the same day. Fast forward to the planning, we find out it is not in fact full service. There’s no in house DJ or Baker as the website advertised. You also cannot get any decor you want through them which is what Alison made it seem like. The choices were very limited for what is included, unless you wanted to pay extra for outside resources. The in house florist was so unprofessional and rude, and she will charge you an arm and a leg for subpar florals. The chef is very nice but I don’t believe catering for more than 40 people is his forte as nearly none of our guests enjoyed their food. It wasn’t fresh or even warm, both proteins were undercooked and everything was bland aside from goat cheese potatoes, which were delicious. Due to the lack of staff, my poor coordinator had to do the work of many coordinators trying to accommodate brides that had been abandoned by their coordinators which I believe stretched her so thin, causing details in my wedding to be forgotten. Such details include, the way my napkins were to be folded, the way my menus were placed, the two tables of important people who were to be served, not go through the buffet line, the fact that I had 3 cake flavors instead of 1, the order in which the speeches and performance were to go in, which decor was mine and which was the venues, and lastly the announcement about my guest phone book (guests are to leave messages for the bride and groom. Since no announcement was made at the beginning or end, only 12 of our 51 guests did it). The thing that makes me pretty mad still is that they ruined my wedding cake and then blamed one of my guests for it. I was told she leaned over in the car and tipped the cake over, however there’s way too much damage to the cake to have been simply tipped over. The entire bottom was sunk in and cracked, as if it had been dropped. They also only cut a small portion of the bottom layer, I only got two layers back. Lol I wouldn’t say don’t have your wedding here, but I would say definitely ask a lot of questions, write everything down, and most of all, don’t pick a venue based on saving money. All in, I could’ve just had my wedding locally.
BEST DECISION EVER!
The Century is an extremely beautiful venue that even pictures can't do justice! Erica Ford at The Century made everything SO easy!! Her organization and attention to detail on top of anticipating my needs because she's just THAT good, was beyond expectations! She kept me sane, helped me make my menu a complete dream (I am the only vegan amongst meat eaters), and accommodated every one of my (last minute) changes! She genuinely cared about us and our dream wedding and did everything she could to make our dreams come true! The chef, the banquet staff, the bar staff, security, everyone was so professional, on top of EVERYTHING, and made it so we had zero worries on our day. Our wedding day was a complete dream, and that's because of The Century and their amazing team of dedicated, professional, caring employees! Speaking of which, Leticia from Hand Creations Floral, their in house florist, brought my visions to life and moved me to tears with her execution! She was so easy to work with, understood our needs and vision with very minimal direction (I knew what I wanted but didn't always know how to vocalize it), and executed beyond my wildest dreams! My bouquet, which were the only flowers I had other than boutonnieres and corsages, exceeded my wildest dreams! The attention to detail, her ability to capture everything I wanted represented, and the sheer beauty could not have been accomplished with anyone else. I will sing the praises of The Century and their team from the rooftops! One of the best decisions we made for our wedding!

I am incredibly grateful to have found Nine3One. When my husband and I began planning our wedding in 2023, we initially set our date for April 2024. We had found a venue we liked and were moving forward with our plans. However, when my mother-in-law's cancer diagnosis turned terminal, our world was upended. Our wedding date became her funeral date, and the idea of celebrating a wedding no longer felt right. We decided to elope, but by May, we reconsidered and opted for a small wedding instead. That’s when I reached out to Nine3One. Their responsiveness was immediate; we scheduled a tour for the same week, and as soon as we walked in, my husband and I knew we had found the perfect venue. We had our initial meeting with Erin, and then Erica took over to handle the details. Despite our decision to plan the wedding within a two-month window, what should have been stressful turned out to be the easiest process ever! Erica guided us through every step, from choosing our food and sampling dishes to organizing every detail of the wedding day. I had bought decorations but was unsure how to set them up. Luckily, Erica and her team took care of everything, transforming our venue into a stunning space that received countless compliments. Every aspect of the process was flawless. Erica and her team were incredibly attentive, always appearing exactly when needed, even without us having to ask. When The Century advertisement popped up on my Facebook in December 2023, I knew I had to go and see it for my own eyes. A week later, I booked an appointment and first met with Crystal Brouwer. She gave me the tour, and I absolutely fell in love with the venue. Crystal was so patient, honest and understanding. I knew I had to book this venue, and lo and behold; May 25, 2024 was booked for me (and my fiance) of course. Then I met Tatiana Lopez. My coordinator, savior and all around superwoman. She coordinated our tasting, our floral appointments with decorations… I must have emailed her over 500 times. And she was so patient, understanding and she also alleviated any anxiety. All the small details, the big details, the details I didn’t even think of… she got it done! Chef Robert Root was in charge of our Buffett dinner. Our first tasting did not go as well, so we were able to do another one. Needless to say; the dinner was a success. (Guests would not stop complimenting the food.) The day of my wedding; Tatiana was there every step of the way. I would have forgotten to eat and drink if it weren’t for her! I blinked and I swear everything was going by so fast, and Tatiana was here to cue us and kept the timeline on track. Before I knew it, everything was packed and ready to go for us. It was all so flawless. And that is because of Tatiana! Thank you The Century team!l for making my wedding day dreams come true!
