Built in 1852, The Spring House Hotel is considered one of Block Island’s most elegant historic landmarks. With its well-maintained red mansard roof, large wraparound veranda, distinctive cupola, and breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean and Block Island’s foothills, it is no wonder why the hotel is included among New England’s most desirable destinations. Our season runs from May through October, allowing you and your guests to take advantage of Block Island's natural beauty. We offer rental of our entire facility for larger parties, and exclusive use of our tented back patio for smaller parties.

The Front Lawn

One of the Spring House Hotel's most distinguishing features is the front lawn. White Adirondack chairs are aligned at the crest of our signature hill. On any given summer evening, children are rolling down the hill as adults relax with a cocktail. Imagine reserving this breathtaking location for your own private event. With the Atlantic Ocean as the backdrop, our front lawn is a popular venue for outdoor ceremonies. A more beautiful setting cannot be imagined.

Seaside Veranda

The Seaside Veranda is the Spring House Hotel's landmark feature. A partially covered, wraparound porch is the perfect setting for enjoying cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. It features an outdoor bar and plenty of space for guests to mingle. The view from the veranda cannot be beat.

Victoria's Parlor

The lounge and dance area of your dreams.

This space is perfect for after-dinner drinks and dancing. Outdoor music on Block Island must end at 9PM, but dancing indoors can go much later! Everyone loves the old, Victorian bar and classic feel of this room.

Ocean View Terrace

A party with a view.

The Ocean View Terrace, the eastern patio for the hotel, is a perfect site to hold your reception. Imagine your guests enjoying a delicious meal while overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. This tented space has clear sides that can roll down in case of inclement weather, along with built-in heaters to warm up a chilly evening. We also offer this space for smaller events. Imagine your ceremony on the side lawn, with cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing all here!

    The Spring House was an absolutely spectacular location for our wedding. We were married on the back lawn since it was high season, and then moved to the patio for our reception. Both have unobstructed views of the ocean. Once the ceremony was over, servers were at the ready with our speciality drinks. The cocktail hour food was incredible. Highly recommend the raw bar option, the oysters are shucked to order. Seated dinner was even better. Our guests cannot stop raving about the wedding and the food especially. Tanya, who is the coordinator, is a total gem. She was so patient, answering every single question. I hired a day of coordinator, but Tanya took care of every detail. She was so kind and pivoted easily to accommodate me when I realized that some of our more difficult guests didn't make the correct menu choices. We have been coming to Block Island for many years and we knew we wanted to be married there. The Spring House made everything truly special. Our wedding was perfection. Multiple guests have called to tell us that they felt that it was one of the best weddings they had been to.

    Spring House really was the perfect place to get married. I'm not sure I can properly describe it but the island, the venue, and the entire day was awesome and it was definitely thanks to Spring House Hotel that it happened perfectly. Tanya is unlike any other. She is great at her job, directive the day of as needed, and works hard to make your vision come to life. She is so responsive, attentive, and has contagious energy. I was a very hands-on bride and Tanya encouraged every idea I had which was truly amazing. It is no secret that the venue is beautiful but what made the day extra special was all the staff truly there to see the day through. I couldn’t imagine getting married and having the same feeling anywhere else. Thank you Spring House and thank you, Tanya, especially for a truly amazing day!
