Hotel Julien Dubuque, a destination for beautiful wedding celebrations. Our hotel is an elegant boutique hotel that marries modern amenities with historic charm in the heart of Old Main Street Dubuque, and has been the choice venue for celebrations for over 150 years.

Grande Ballroom and Atrium
Feelings of grandeur, elegance and style emerge from first impressions of the historic Grande Ballroom.
Complete with luxurious finishings and magnificent windows, the ballroom accommodates, on its own, a little over 150 guests and features 17’ ceilings with chandeliers. Opened into the Fleur de Lis room, this space can host up over 300 guests. The Grande Ballroom is also adjacent to the Atrium, a pre-function space ideal for pre-wedding entertainment, cocktails and meet-and-greet opportunities.

Adjacent to our Riverboat Lounge, the River Room offers a unique and modern setting suitable for weddings accommodating a little over 100 guests.

With a strong history in providing unforgettable experiences, this unique outdoor space is ideal for pre-wedding entertainment, cocktails and meet-and-greet opportunities.

Banwarth Review
We had an amazing weekend at The Hotel Julien Dubuque! Our guests talked about the food, the ease of everything, and the room turn over as well. The whole day was flawless and very easy for our family to help decorate, due to the staffing at the hotel. Thank you! We would recommend this venue to any couple due to the ease and how pretty everything was all weekend. From the hotel rooms, to the Ballroom. Everything was beautiful!
Our Perfect Day!
We had our wedding at the Hotel Julien and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get married! We hosted our rehearsal dinner, reception, and a morning after breakfast all at the hotel! The staff is so helpful and they were truly great to work with! The food is also GREAT! We got so many compliments on it from our guests! We could not have asked for a better day!
An old money look and feel for your wedding day
Absolutely the best experience any bride, groom, and guests could experience from start to finish. The staff go above and beyond, they handled all of my last minute requests with a smile and offered to do even more than my requests to help make every little detail perfect. I booked with them 2 weeks before our wedding date sent. I know…. I’m crazy. The food was absolutely amazing. Every single guest not only made a point to say it was the best wedding food they have ever had, but they will be back to visit the restaurant that serves the dish for date nights. That says a lot! It has an old money vibe, it is an absolutely stunning building. The grand ballroom is perfect for the ceremony and reception. We held our reception in their river room and only used the grand ballroom for the ceremony.
