We had a simple SF City Hall ceremony with only close family present, and hired Stephanie for a 2 hour photoshoot. Prior to the day, we had very minimal communication as we had already mentioned we were inexperienced with photoshoots, and assumed a professional photographer would be able to guide us with their artistic vision. We were impressed by Stephanie's portfolio and thought we would get similar results. However, we ended up quite disappointed. 1) Several critical shots and key moments were missing. Although we had a small group gathered and we all remember taking a family photo, Stephanie claims the photo doesn't exist. That's devastating to learn when some relatives flew in from out of country for the event and we don't have a photo to commemorate. There is also only a photo of my husband placing the ring on my finger, but not the opposite where I place the ring on my husband's finger. Overall during the shoot, we noticed she was taking quite minimal shots rather than continuously clicking where it felt pretty bare minimum. 2) Although she told us where and how to pose, there was no attention to detail when it came to adjusting our hair, outfits, and angles. My husband found out halfway through the shoot that his shoelaces were untied the whole time. 3) We found out that she posted photos from our shoot on her social media pages that included our names before she even delivered the gallery to us. Although we understand it is important for photographers to build their portfolios and we had already assumed she would eventually post our photos, it felt insensitive and unprofessional that she didn't check with us first before publicly sharing our names with the photos, and how she seemed to prioritize building her social media profile over delivering the photos to the clients first. As this was a small and intimate event, we wanted to keep things more private and be the first to share the news and photos to our family and friends. 4) When we finally got the gallery, we were just....shocked. And not in a good way. The photos looked completely unedited besides adding some colour profiles to it. There were random strangers all over the backgrounds of most of our shots. We knew City Hall was a busy building, but we also assumed it would be a given to edit out all strangers from our shots. We politely asked her to remove the bystanders and she claimed those photos were sent by mistake. However when she gave us an updated gallery, she only edited a few of the glaringly obvious bystanders and did not thoroughly go through each of the photos. The ones that she did edit, there were still some visible flaws to the editing where we can see traces of the removed people. We decided to cut our losses at this point and just finish the remaining edits on our own. 5) When my husband gave his feedback on the whole ordeal, many of her responses quoted the contract and how she technically fulfilled the requirements and did nothing wrong. This really rubbed us the wrong way and felt very dismissive. We were merely communicating our dissatisfaction with the results, not threatening legal action. Overall, if you are inexperienced with photoshoots, do not have an artistic background, or if you just have more of a shy personality, I highly recommend you looking elsewhere because if you don't take complete control in directing the photoshoot, you may not be happy with what she delivers.

Hello again, V&E, I didn’t expect to start my 2025 responding again, but here we go again. 1 - I sent photos of you with your families. The photo you’re requesting (a group photo with everyone DOES NOT EXIST). we simply didn’t take it. "There is also only a photo of my husband placing the ring on my finger, but not the opposite where I place the ring on my husband's finger" : YES! I sent it to you. "Overall during the shoot, we noticed she was taking quite minimal shots rather than continuously clicking where it felt pretty bare minimum" : As a photographer, I control which photos to take. I have control of the camera, and during the photoshoot, you never saw what photos I took, nor do I know how you could see how many times my finger pressed the shutter button on my camera. So, this doesn’t make any sense to me, and it doesn’t make sense to any photographer 2: "My husband found out halfway through the shoot that his shoelaces were untied the whole time" Please take a look at the gallery because I don’t see a single photo of your husband with his shoe untied. In my perception, is it really worth highlighting that your husband didn’t have his shoe tied? Did the photos get ruined? Please take another look at the gallery. - about your hair, Regarding your hair, it was always styled in every photo. I don’t see a single photo where it appears messy. 3- I initially sent the gallery, and then I uploaded 2 photos where their faces aren’t visible. My only mistake was writing "VIKI+EDISON." We have a contract that specifies I can share photos on my social media, and I want to highlight that you NEVER warned me about not making your names public. I assume this isn’t about privacy at this point, as I can clearly see your names in reviews. I also want to emphasize that I first sent the gallery, and then I uploaded 2 PHOTOS to Instagram. 4- "There were random strangers all over the backgrounds of most of our shots" The photos were uploaded corrected. What’s the point of posting a review with a mistakenly uploaded photo when I later sent the corrected version? And after 3 months? 5- "When my husband gave his feedback on the whole ordeal, many of her responses quoted the contract and how she technically fulfilled the requirements and did nothing wrong" - I only quoted ONE part of our contract. I don’t understand why you’re saying MANY,a contract is meant to protect both parties. I want to clarify that I agreed to change the location at NO EXTRA COST, delivered more photos than I was required to, and was very kind to you and your families. I never received a message from you expressing dissatisfaction with my work. Believe me, if I had, I would have been happy to re-edit everything and even offer a free photoshoot. However, seeing a review like this after 3 months was a surprise to me. Hope you guys have a wonderful year. best, Stephanie.
  • Very Disappointed With The Experience

We found Stephanie Pardo on the Bay Area photographer group and used her for our City Hall wedding photos. We did go through her portfolio first and things looked good. However, the experience was definitely not. Many things went wrong for us: 1) She did not edit any of the photos before sending it to us so we actually had a lot of random bystanders. She said that was sent by mistake and "fixed" it, but there wasn't much improvement. The photo we have in City Hall showed 2 other couples and a few bystanders.. you can't tell who's who. That should NOT have been a final product to send to us. 2) We weren't centered in most of the pictures. I'm struggling to do the printed photo frames because the centering relative to the background is very jarring. We were not positioned well for the shots. 3) A lot of shots are missing/she only took 1-2 shots and they didn't turn out well. My eyes were probably closed or half closed for most of the shots for all I know. We know she took more shots but we didn't receive everything. Could've sworn we did a group photo with everyone but that wasn't available either. Weird... considering that's a critical shot with your loved ones. 4) Piggybacking off #3 where she isn't attentive to details. My soon-to-be wife's veil wasn't fully seated half the time AND my shoelace was untied for part of it. She could've given us a heads up especially when we're relying on her for the photos. There were maybe very MINIMAL guidance on angles and poses so we came out looking very stiff in many photos. 5) We waited for our photos then saw she had actually posted us in her IG profile along with our names. We're 100% fine if she were to use our photos but we would've appreciate a heads up first. We didn't want our names used either. It also would've been nice if we had received our photos first and maybe had a chance to share it ourselves before she posted us on her own IG. 6) Communication was flakey. We had to double text to get responses. Felt like we were bothering her when we're only getting confirmations. Her portfolio pictures are way better than the ones she did for us especially when it comes to positioning the couples, framing the shots, and editing to remove obvious bystanders. Very bummed out about the whole ordeal. I was originally not going to post this review, but going through all the photos to send to our loved ones.. really made me upset about what we received. We paid a good amount of money and still had a lot of editing to do on our own just to make it presentable. At least remove the obvious bystanders??? We can't even fix the one where we weren't centered properly. City Hall is beautiful, but this was all wasted. I'm happy other people are very pleased with their experience. Our photos seem to be very low effort especially how we're not really centered in them relative to the background.. how she gave us the photos with people obviously in the background (she attempted to correct after we commented on it). But yeah.. wouldn't wish this on anyone else.

First of all, thank you for sharing your feedback. I truly appreciate your honesty it was never my intention, and I’d love to address your concerns point by point: - It was a mistake to upload the wrong photos; I later uploaded the corrected ones. Please let me know which photos you’re referring to where there are other couples and it’s unclear who is who. I don’t see any like that in the gallery. 2) I’m looking through the gallery, and all the photos are appropriately centered. SF City Hall is a beautiful building, and I don’t always place my couples in the center to showcase the architecture. However, this doesn’t mean the composition of the photo is poor. Please let me know which specific photos you feel are not properly centered. 3) I delivered 130 photos, as stated in our contract, which specified 80-100 photos so nothing is missing. I reviewed my raw files and can confirm that I didn’t find any photo where everyone is gathered together. Regarding your eyes, please let me know which specific photos you’re referring to. I just went through the gallery in detail and didn’t find any where your eyes are closed. 4) Apologies for not noticing those small details. In the photos, I couldn’t find any where your shoelace appears untied. As for the bride’s veil, it looked perfect to me, and I wasn’t aware of how she specifically wanted it adjusted. However, I truly appreciate the feedback, and I’ll keep this in mind for future sessions. 5) I apologize for not informing you beforehand about posting the photos on Instagram. I understand that I sent the gallery to you before posting, but I also want to mention that our contract states the following: “The Photographer reserves the right to use the photographs for promotional purposes, including on their website and social media, and to submit the photographs for publication in photography competitions or publications.” Based on this, there was no issue with sharing the photos. However, I do apologize for mentioning names without your consent. 6) I apologize for my delayed communication, it was wedding season, and I was extremely busy. I’m sorry for the negative experience you had when receiving your photos. I’ll review the gallery in detail to address the people in the background. SF City Hall is always very busy, and it’s quite challenging to remove every person from every photo, but I sincerely apologize for this issue again. The photos were beautiful, but yes, there may have been editing mistakes. I apologize once again for that and am more than willing to re-edit the photos to ensure you have a better experience, please email me the specific photos you feel are not properly centered so I can make corrections. Thank you!
