Can I remove the engagement session from the package?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, no. I believe it's an important opportunity to get to know each other and for you to experience what it's like to be in front of the camera beforehand so you know what to expect on your wedding day! Plus you can use your photographs for your save-the-dates, invitations, or print them out in your home or at the reception! That said, there’s no requirement to have engagement photos taken, but your session is complimentary, so why not?!

How soon should I book a wedding photographer?

The earlier the better! That way you have the best chance to secure your date! It also gives us more time to shoot your engagement session — and get all the best shots for you to use in your Save the Dates! A good rule of thumb: start looking for your wedding photographer 12-18 months in advance.

Question 3

When will I get my photos?

Accepted Answer

Good things take time! After carefully culling your photos, I edit your best images so they’re the brightest, most vibrant and true-to-color reflections of your day. I will do my best to get them turned around as quickly as I can, and generally say within 4-6 weeks for engagement images and 8-10 weeks for your wedding gallery. Please note that peak wedding months (ie. May, August, or October) may take approximately 12 weeks to be delivered.

How many photos will I get?

As many great shots as I have, you’re going to get them! My typical engagements are 150+ images and weddings average around 1200 delivered images.

What if I need more coverage time?

Accepted Answer

Once we get closer to your wedding date we'll regroup on your chosen package and I will help you write a custom timeline! If after that you determine you would like to add more time, just let me know and we can adjust! Additional hours are $100 per hour. If time’s flying the day of and you want more of your party captured, just say the word! I’ll check in with you before I leave in case you’d like me to stay. Any additional time is billed at $100/hour and must be paid within 3 days after your wedding date and prior to any sneak peek and/or gallery delivery.

Why should I invest in wedding photography?

Professional wedding photographers are highly experienced and trained in the art of photography. Please, believe me when I say it’s more than just owning a decent camera and snapping a few shots of you and your loved ones! It’s about making you feel confident and at your best with flattering angles and all the positive energy. On top of capturing perfectly composed images that consider light and movement and the emotion of a moment, I give my clients a curated and intentional experience that’s effortless and full of fun.

Can I remove the USB from the package?

No, you cannot remove it. However, I include it for a very significant reason! In this day in age it can be really easy for us to leave our photos on our computers, phones, or in the cloud. I want to ensure you have a secondary copy of your images, because I cannot host your images online forever.

Why should I consider a wedding album?

Accepted Answer

In this day in age it can be so easy to leave our photos on our computer, phone, or in the cloud. It has been 8 years since my own wedding and I still don't have an album. Life gets busy and it becomes a future project that never comes, and I don't want that to happen to you! I think of me and my sister huddled around my parents' wedding album and flipping through it together as they recount their amazing day. My hope is to help you print your photos so you can celebrate your legacy with your loved ones too!

Why should I consider a second photographer?

Accepted Answer

Having a second photographer present encourages more creative variety in your gallery. A second photographer can help capture angles during the ceremony that are not possible for the main photographer to reach. They can also help capture in tandem, saving you more time to get back to the dance floor!

Question 10

Is there a travel fee?

Accepted Answer

I include up to 100 round trip complimentary miles from my studio to your engagement session and also to your wedding day. Any miles over this amount is charged the current IRS mileage rate for the given year. (In 2025 this rate is 70 cents per mile!) I am willing to travel within 3 hours of my studio located in Ottawa, OH. I capture in the Northwest, Ohio and Toledo area most often but I also enjoy capturing weddings in the Cleveland and Columbus areas. In some circumstances when traveling over 2 hours, lodging costs may also be requested. Feel free to send me a message if you'd like to chat about your specific location!
