How far in advance should we book you for our wedding?

Accepted Answer

Traditionally, couples book us about 8-13 months before their wedding date. This allows for ample time to schedule an engagement session and plan for your wedding photography vision. That being said, we are finding more couples booking much later in the process. We encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about our availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.

Question 2

Do you work with assistants or other photographers?

Our wedding coverage always include two photographers. A majority of the time it is Michael & Jennifer - a husband and wife duo, we also have several trained assistants that we work with when this isn't possible. No matter who you work with you will have the same experience and all images will be captured and edited with the same consistent look and feel.

Question 3

Will you edit all our pictures?

Definitely. All final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful. Beyond that, any images purchased for artwork will have additional fine-tune retouching done to them for extra things like blemish removal and teeth whitening to make sure your artwork has you looking your absolute best.

Do you also offer video services?

No, we prefer focusing on photography only, so you can get the best wedding pictures possible. We do have a recommended videographer that we work well with and can offer a joint package with them if you are looking for a video/photo team.

Question 5

How long will it take to see our pictures?

Accepted Answer

My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 4-6 weeks after your wedding. At this point, we get together either in-person or via zoom and have an image reveal party and ordering session where you will design any album or artwork you wish to purchase. Within a few days after this session, you will receive a link to an online gallery with all of your images available to download and share with your friends and family.

How many pictures will we get?

You can expect about 80 to 100 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.

Question 7

Do you have insurance?

Accepted Answer

We do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and we will send that over to them.

Question 8

What’s your back-up plan if you can’t photograph our wedding as planned?

Accepted Answer

In our 11 years of experience as a wedding photographers, we’ve never canceled a booking. In the very rare event that we're unable to photograph your wedding, we’ll make sure you’re covered by one of our colleagues or my contracted assistant. We’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups we're in, so you can find the perfect replacement.

Question 9

Do you charge a travel fee?

We are based in West Michigan and cover the entire lower peninsula and Chicago area without any travel fees for booked wedding clients. If you're looking to have your wedding in an area beyond that, travel fees vary based on distance and travel arrangements necessary.
