My name is Jana Blue and I've been photographing weddings for 10 years. I'm consistent not in a trend of photos or style, but emotions. Each wedding and couples are so unique and my work follows that. In my career I've photographed both big production weddings and also intimate DIY ones. I've photographed informal engagements and elopements/weddings in a desert in Chile, in the mountains of Zion, in a beach in Croatia, in an ancient church in Greece and in forests in Brazil. I work with all different budgets and needs from my brides. I'm a preferred vendor of Chicago First Lady Boat, so I do weddings on the boat during the summer.

I am here now to capture your unique moments. I see beauty everywhere and I notice details which make each moment special and I do my best to capture that. My style is intimate and minimalist – stripping away all the superfluous things that just clutter the shot and focusing only on those subtle and mysterious elements that invoke feelings of magic and awe. Although I shoot in different lighting conditions, my preference is for natural light which brings out the true glow of eyes and smiles.

From the moment we met Jana, we knew we had found our wedding photographer. Jana immediately made us feel comfortable and confident that she had our most important day well under control. She had us laughing and relaxed in our first meeting as she beamed through the zoom screen, exuding a true interest in our love story; and she was soo attentive to details - she brought up many important specifics that we wouldn't have thought of on our own. Our first opportunity to work with Jana was our engagement photos, that's when we, again, truly knew we made the right choice. Jana is very easy to work with, even though she's really specific in how she wants you to pose -- and the results were fantastic. When we got the engagement photos back, we saw how unique Jana's photography is. We looked great(!), but also...all the colors around us popped, she caught natural light in a really beautiful way, and the "stories" she told through our poses were all so special compared to the other photographers we looked into. Our wedding day threw every challenge possible at Jana... inclement weather, pushy-other-brides-photographers doing their shoots in the same space, and even a traffic-blocking protest when we were traveling to the venue... and Jana remained resilient, calm, and on-task. We booked a 2nd photographer, Gail, through Jana, who was also fantastic, our only regret from our special day was not booking Gail for longer, as both of them were able to capture every special moment of the ceremony/reception/formals. To ensure you get the whole days' events and both get-ready rooms, we highly recommend future couples to book both for the majority of the day. Thank you Jana and Gail, for making our special day memorable, perfect, and genuinely beautiful....and we have the photos to prove it!

Jana is an exceptional photographer and a great entertainer during all our photo sessions. Over the last month, she captured the best day of my life. Jana is awesome! Her communication and personality are 10/10. She was very responsive about things we didn't know how to handle (wardrobe decisions etc.) and was always happy to help. There is no doubt that knows what she is doing and how to direct/compose photos in addition to having a great eye for framing with the scenery! Her prices are very fair, as well! We used her for our engagement and wedding photos and will definitely contact her in the future if we need a photographer!
